I agree with you man. He's probably the worst player on chivas with the ball on his feet and he's one of the worst finishers in FMF. He has a lot of heart and runs hard after every ball but I dont think that's enough for him to deserve a spot in our squad. The only good thing I see out of the Ochoa signing is that Santana will finally leave.
que paso mis chavos y chavas. give him at least 1 month and then anything goes. but still can't forget the golazo he scored against chivas.
I really like ochoa in chivas, hes strong and fast, and will free up pina, all we are missing is ponce and a defence and we are in really good shape for liberaters cup and clau 09.
i agree. even though he has sucked it up in his few chances at the nt level, he has proved time and time again that he can be very consistent at the club level and he has been a regular goalscorer on every team hes been besides osasuna. not the best guy we can get, but i'm not complaining. once he starts getting exposure on the team, i would definitely would not mind him starting ahead of santana. on the defence note, we should go for dominguez from cruz azul. always been a fan of him even though he has had his horrible games. if not him, i say we go for leo lopez or cervantes from morelia.
Interesting, I was going to post that when I saw C. Ochoa with the NT versus Chile at the LA Coliseum, he was one of the players that stood out (in a B squad) ... and mainly in the first half before the entire attack seemed to fall apart. I don't know what to think about the 'trade'. Martinez was part of the Chivas when I started following them, so there's the sentimental factor. Back then, I bought a futbol magazine in Mexico and on the flight back meticulously translated an article about him and a restaraunt he had just opened in Guadalajara. He was loaned right after that. Then, I remember a cracking golazo he scored from distance one of the first times I saw him with Morelia ... nice goal, but it ultimately amounts to little on his behalf. I'm with el-choul wondering about Vergara actually spending some money ... I'm beginning to wonder if Vergara even has any these days. It just seems like he'd be a heavily leveraged guy which can't be easy these days.
Man, if we get dominguez we would be set and solid on defence. i doubt dominguez goees but, we will shortly get ponce and then all we need is a defence.
amaury ponce for el venado....aghh too hard to decide, i dont want to give up el venado, damn it vergara buy a damn player. dont trade
wtf?! as far as i know, Venado is still gonna stay at Chivas just 2 weeks ago he signed an extension on his contract until 2012
I dont think they will trade, but i will do it no problem, venados cycle in chivas is done, i think ponce we will really use nicely.
sucks for Pina that he can't go. it would of been a nice experience for him and would expose him to the Euopean market.
the chills it brought me when i seen this 30 yr old forward. good thing its loan for one year n not one more day. a 30 yr old Bofo > 30 yr old Ochoa
To clarify, I was speculating based on Chepo's past interest in Medina (rumors over the summer). I don't even have a current newspaper rumor right now to back me up. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but look at Vergara's pattern. So if they did sign Ponce (a rumor others have pointed to), who goes to the bench? Doesn't he play on the right? Esparza/Baez?
I would not mind benching O.Ezparza for Ponce. Baez can still get playing time on either wing and through the middle. Medina should stay, still hope Bofo returns. C.Ochoa is "meh". Santana was getting the job done, but his attitude toward a little competition was poor. Refuerzos wishlist: Venegas (Atlante, Centerback) Trujillo (Morelia, Centerback/Fullback/Centermidfield) Ever Guzman(Morelia, Striker) "El Hobbit" Bermudez(Atlante, Right Mifielder/CAM/Wingback) Amaury Ponce(Toluca, Right Midfielder/Wingback/Center midfield) Bofo (Jaguares, Center-forward/CAM/Awesome) Probable refuerzos: C.Ochoa(Check) A.Ponce(Probable) Duenas(maybe) Salcido(long shot)
I agree that Ponce would be an upgrade (or should be, you never know who can make it at Chivas until they show up). But this goes back to striking a balance between promoting youth players and signing starters from other teams. Given that Baez and Esparza can both play that position, and aren't exactly terrible at it, I'd rather they sign (trade for) Dueñas. One thing is for sure, I hope they sign a higher profile player than Ochoa, otherwise I'll have to keep this avatar all season long.
Well there was an article that said that chivas is going to loan a bunch of young players, some mentioned were avila, chicharito and others so they could keep evolving. Ochoa is way better that santana, so that alone is an upgrade. Plus he is fast and strong, and has that sacrifice of going to the midfield like santana , only better. And the contragolpe of chivas just got deadly, arellano and ochoa, will be insane upfront. all we need is ponce and a defence.
What forward is out there right now though? By the way...Aaron Galindo? Nice. http://www.mediotiempo.com/noticia/71225/aaron-galindo-a-un-paso-de-reforzar-a-chivas/
