It's no disgrace losing to the Blast but there's no way Rockford should be held to one goal with the offensive weapons they have. Also Rockford had two penalties for two many players on the field one of which led to a Blast power play goal and the Blast got a goal on a quick restart that caught the Rampage napping.

I'm starting to think that Jeff Kraft has got some 'splainin to do.

As for the game, closer then I would like really, but the Blast team defense seems to be at top form very early on...need to get Milwood and Celenza going offensively.

There have been six NISL games so far and maybe two or 33% have been good games from a fan's perspective. By itself, the fact that the Twisters play in 40% of the NISL's games makes the league somewhat of a farce.

And to think this is the league whose supporters on this board including yourself seem to have a superiority complex.

I think the XSL is going to be so much better to watch than the NISL that it isn't going to be funny.

First of all how do the Twisters play in 40% of the games? And I have no superiority complex, just think the business plan (not being a single entity) and the current teams of Baltimore, Philly and Monterey have the best talent...and Rockford has some quality players as well. No doubt they need to add more teams, but i garauntee you the NISL is not going anywhere and will expand...keep thinking the 4 team Xtreme (what a joke) soccer league is going to be the dominant league...I guess we will see what happens as time goes on...my money is on the NISL.

To NSL2004...You make comments ALL the time about the NISL, Blast and Ed Hale...its border line obsessive! Just go cover and post about your PASL...we don't want to read your cheap shot posts anymore...it's old!

five teams. nine home games each. that's 45 games total in the nisl this year.

twisters will play in 18 games (9 home, 9 away). 18/45=40%.

in fact, every team plays in 40% of the games, oddly enough. because there are two teams in each game.

other than not being a single entity, do you have one other facet of the nisl's vaunted business plan that you can point to as being superior to anything else that's been done, ever?

I am obsessed with Chuck E. Cheese game production and multi-point scoring as eternal sore spots. Just as some people (not me I was too young) will never stop being bitter about Bob Irsay moving the Colts to Indianapolis.

All three leagues are subject to a certain amount of criticism. I've taken my lumps here about the PASL-Pro without complaining too much and I've tried to provide positive counterpoints.

If you'll notice I've been pretty subdued in my criticisms lately except when Soccer-Man gives me a perfect lob to slam back in his face. But that's more about making him look like a goof than slamming on the NISL. I think everyone already knows where I stand there anyway.

last i looked, the blast have a fairly good keeper and defense, too.

even great offensive teams get held to low offensive totals from time to time. case in point: new england patriots in the super bowl.

or the blast, who had never ever been shut out in their history, being blanked by philadelphia last year.

    it's been known to happen.

not that i don't necessarily agree with your point that jeff kraft might not exactly be ron newman, but i think there's only so much that a short training camp and a few games can do in a game that's as teamwork and timing oriented as indoor soccer.

i still think rockford will get results. like you say, they do have people who can score goals. they'll beat up on the twisters a few times and nick a few results from some other folks.

I asked the great Soccer-Man this three times and his big mouth had no answer. Perhaps RavenTerp can provide something.

Just pretend I'm not me for a minute. I'm the press. You have the floor to sell the viewing public on the NISL. And...go:

That IS the biggest reason...that and the fact you cannot have teams/owners fold in cities and continue to have the rights to having new teams in the city.

By the way, I listened to the Blast-Rampage broadcast from WCBM over the Internet. I didn't hear any crowd noise. It was eerie.

I'm going to have to smack the buzzer on that one. That's a total red herring.
