Didn't see it, but a lot of the youngsters got a chance to shine in this game with both Ronaldo and Raul not playing, and the coach giving many players a chance to play in this sort of friendly.

Maybe I should have checked Eurosport's schedule, they usually show these kind of matches.

    Following one step b
It was very special match for Solari (Cambiasso too)for being River Plate´s ex-player as Di Stefano was. A great tribute match for the greatest Argentinian Real Madrid player.

I would say simply, the Real Madrid greatest player. I think that Di Stefano, Maradona and Pele are the greatest players in the soccer's history.

They game was a tribute to Di Stefano for the 50 anniversary since he began to play in Real Madrid.

The Real and Boca players entered in the field holding a big placard with the Di Stefano face. With the RM hymn sounding, the players gave a plate to the grandsons of Di stefano - Di Stefano didn't know nothing about that - and the grandsons went to the presidential tribune to give the plate to him.

The game was very interesting to watch. In the first half played :

    Cesar
    Salgado, Ruben,Helguera, Roberto Carlos
    Nuñez, Beckham, Guti, Solari
    Zidane
    Portillo

The game was very good to give minutes to Helguera thinking in the Saturday game against Valencia. Nuñez played very good. The best of the game was Solari. He remember me the Solari of two years ago. His goal was great, dribbling three defenders. Zidane and Beckham played very good in the first half, good connection between them.

In the second half played some minutes many players of the young teams (Pavon, Raul Bravo, Jordi, Borja, Olalla, Jurado, Riki)

Portillo score two goals and he played good. As i said before I liked Nuñez, he play in the same position of Figo, he has speed and a good dribbling. Jordi, a midfielder that is also this year in the first team played good. But the best was Jurado, a young player of 17 years old, that play as forward or second forward, with a great touch of ball, a good vision and a good dribbling. Del Bosque has said about him that "He could be the next Raul, we have to see his evolution in the next two years". Del Bosque knows very well all these young players, because he was general manager of the young teams for many years, before to be the first team manager.

    Real and BOCA players?????????????

    River Plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you confuse River with are arch rivals Boca? Red, white, and Black as opposed to Blue and Gold!

Di Stefano came from River Plate! Thanks for giving him his due. One of the best players to set foot on a pitch! To bad we lost!

Thanks for the rundown on the game. I'll be looking forward to seeing Nuñez this year. I did see Jurado play in the Mundial sub-17 and he looks like a very good prospect for the future.

What has happened to Miñambres? Was he loaned out to another club? Last year he looked like a good prospect as well and could play either as a right back or a right sided midfielder..
