Shoudn't Bridgeview compensate section 8 for the stolen megabandera since they own stadium and are responsible for security at non-game times?

You do know the difference between actual worth and replacement costs, right? The Section isn't interested in pocketing the money, they want a replacement. As such, the issue is replacement cost, which given the best evidence, is the cost of the original.

It was stolen during a match. Nothing to "wonder" about. Unless you know where its at, in which case, please let the Bridgeview Police Department know.

    You first.

Call them out then. We don't know who broke the benches, nor is it the Section's job to track and investigate those issues. If the Fire or TP want to do so, more power to them. What the hell does that have to do with the Section?

    1. The team already knows who Bunge is. Its not a secret, especially when Bunge is acknowledging that he is speaking on behalf of the Section. Nice job finally catching that though.

    2. Slander derives from a spoken statement, not a written one, so you obviously have no clue what your talking about.

    3. You can only sue someone for libel if what they said was untrue.

    4. You can only collect for libel if you suffered an actual loss. Given that Section 8 has dramatically increased the number of season ticket holders in section 118 (and 117, though it was not to our benefit due to the redefinition of our contract), and the numbers in the rest of the stadium have increased as well, I doubt they can make the claim.

Honestly, you should think a little before you post. It really helps.

1 point I want to make: Nothing the FO says about benches, S8's attitude, etc has a darn thing to do with the fact that they refuse to honor a written agreement concerning ticket sale commissions, and that they were responsible for and lost Megabandera. If they feel the Section owes them money, they will have the opportunity to counter-sue.

So THAT'S why we lost so many games at home! We didn't have a mega-banner. It all makes sense now.

Tell me why the Fire should pay for its supporters to travel to an away game? Why aren't the people who signed up for the bus paying for their own travel?

Maybe you should read up on this before commenting. S8 has a written agreement for commissions. Why should they NOT expect that the Fire would honor this?

Pretty sure they were paying for the bus w/ the ticket commission money, which never showed up.

I swear to gods I thought that illiteracy billboard off 90/94 was full of shit.

Thanks for making that billboard true. Where in bunge's statement did you see him say that section 8's inability to support the team to its fullest directly coincides with the teams on-field performance? Please oh please answer with depth and haste.

All of this is meaningless. One of the purposes of Government is the enforcement of contracts. Its a contract issue.

NFF - I'm sure they will... Their version of "supporting the team" is to write negative and ill-thought posts on message boards telling other people that they don't support the team.
Actually, I can't even make that make sense to me.
Super Sting is the kind of guy that spent most of high school getting beat up and plotting his revenge, and we're all pretty much used to that...but I honestly don't know what thoughts would lead chiladd to lash out like Ned Flanders on crank.

If you're somehow angry at Section8 for what you perceive to be perks or special treatment of some kind...or angry because you think they try to act like they're more important than you... Then join a supporter's group...or start your own.

There's no reason for adults to try to drag someone down to their level, imagined or not, just to feel like they're on even footing. If that's the way you feel...then drag youself up...not the other way around.
That's part of maturity, even if it's not part of BigSoccer...

I'm sure you'll find though, that it's a lot more work than you think, to make things like that happen. And even if you don't appreciate it...you should respect it.

I'm not even being sarcastic...it really is that simple.

As far as the Front Office goes...well, because reiki is made of chaos, it can't flow as effectively through a less fine chaos.
If you don't understand that, don't worry, I just made it up... :)

I guess it's going to be a long off season and vitriol is one way to handle it.

Counter points and arguments on the internet tend to become a huge waste of time so rather than post here 15 times to try and convince some people that support helps the team on the field or some other arguments we could have, why don't we all get together for a beer and discuss the finer points of the problem?

Obviously some people agree and some don't. All I ask is that you not take a few posts on the internet and form your entire opinion as the story is probably bigger than just those points. Maybe I'm wrong and you're right, but I doubt we're going to figure it out here.

Some people would always rather bitch than actually do something to help. I'm guessing Super Sting wouldn't want to show up for a meeting to actually try and improve things. Other people here like alf and chiladd, and others I'm sure who haven't bothered to post, I'm more than happy to get together and chat. Or not.

    Happy Holidays.

    Chiladd,
you were apart of the supporter's scene before day one, hell even before my ass and you played an instrumental role in alot of the good things that have happened before Section 8, so I'm dumbfounded and disappointed by your remarks. I don't have all the facts but if I'm choosing sides it's with Section 8. Over the past few years, I know they've set up some sweet deals for ALL fans to take advantage and knowing Bunge, I damn well know that this is public knowledge probably because the FO for the Fire left no alternative. I'm sick of this Sh..t from the FO. If we (fans) decide not to show, then they have no gig, it's that simple yet the manner in which a number of people in the FO view members of Section 8 is whack and way the F... outta line. This club has become alot like those which we hoped it would never become. Section 8 has done the job of ticket reps hired by the FO and for a fraction of the price, they act as a travel agent for fans of the club by coordinating trips et al (trust me that's more work than many of you can imagine) and I can go on and on in discussing how much of an asset they are to the Fire and yet it's come to this crap? This is embarrassing. I have issues with a few people in Section 8 and that's my personal problem but I'll be damned if I read this thread and not back them on this one let alone against whack attacks from others on this thread.

You do know what depreciation of value is? You can't sue for the original value of an item. Well I guess you can try, but you're not going to get it. I'm saying if it cost them 10K when it was new and not full of holes there is no way anyone would give them 10K.

What did the video tape show about the Full Power Banner. Did it show someone stealing it?

Chiladd is becoming my new favorite poster.

I'm confused as to why you keep bringing up the Full Power banner. Do you know what happened or something? I don't see how it relates to any of this.

Could you please ask your Chairman if he can spare $25k??

I think that it would be hilarious if Beckham or Carey would loan S8 $25k against any future award from the court....
