When a team is hands down the class of the league and made it look so easy, how could you arrive at any other conclusion? Did any team in the past dominate like this?

Lets just hope the FO can retain all this talent. As much as this team believes in themselves and their team mates, they could be a dynasty. In the business world of todays sports, are dynasties a thing of the past? I hope not.

First, he spoke of the "Columbus Screw...Crew" and then presented the trophy to captain Guillermo Barros Schelotto. Rob Stone finally made some comment about Frankie, who just walked up and grabbed the damn thing.

I don't want to take away anything from the joy of today, because I think then the Don-tard wins.

    But this was inexcusable.

Excellent! At least MLS didn't put the usual stiff official on the pitch. That reminds me of my all-time Sigi moment: At the end of the 2002 Open Cup final where Sigi charged from the bench to the midfield at full speed and gave Brian Hall more than an earful.

Not many of you may have seen it, but Alejandro Moreno was so overcome with emotion (crying) that the Telefutura reporter had trouble getting the interview with him after the game. He finally wiped his eyes and composed himself, but it was something pretty powerful to see.

Padula talked about how wonderful it was to have his family there--they asked about what he thought of Guille, and he said that before the game, he told Guille to "win one (trophy) for him" since Padula had never won anything and Guille had so many.

You and me both. Couldn't have summed it up any better. I have a lot of feelings like this. I'm sure we all do. Last year, after the last second loss at KC, I went so far as to write a "suicide note" here.

Today, every other team in the league is checking out our butt. :D

I know I mostly lurk and very rarely post but I had to pop up and say that that this season has been f**cking awesome. Such a relief after all the years of suckage and disappointment.
    Awesome!

Thanks for mentioning this. Indeed I didn't see it, but wish I had.

This team is loaded with legendary players right now.

This game was the Crew season in microcosm. The first goal was GBS stealing the ball and keeping it in play then a perfect pass to Moreno who scored on sheer will. NYRB scores and then Crew answer immediately with a perfect set piece in front of an absolutely bananas Nordecke West by GBS placing a perfect header on Marshall. Then the third goal which was absolute GBS wizardry to the captain. Add in great defensive work the last thirty minutes in which Angel was nullified and great goaltending by Hesmer which prevented numerous scoring opportunities to develop. Classic Crew played to perfection.

I had about 20 people over to my house to watch the game. It was glorious to see everyone jump and cheer with the goals. I am so proud of this team and our fans. WE DID IT!

Speaking of Dwight... I'd be grateful to anyone who could PM me a password that allows me to listen to the radio archive on MLSnet.com to hear his call...
