I can probably get my head around the Dutch if you post a link. Djurgården's manager will confirm nothing other than that there are "talks" going on.

Yep, done that many times. But it hasn't broken in Sweden yet. Maybe it'll be out officially at the weekend if she's on her way up.

Djurgården's web page is now confirming that Maes has signed and will be available for play this evening against AIK. The contract is only for the Autumn 2008, with an option to extend.

Well, I managed to finish the Bälinge-Sunnanå game summary just before B's match against Umeå Södra ended.

Unless miracles of hitherto unknown proportions occur, I think we can safely say that Bälinge are out of Damallsvenskan next year.

I've finally managed to finish Bälinge–AIK. Not the best game I've ever seen in my life, I warn you.

Although it was entertaining when Lisa Lantz smacked the ball right at the wall as hard as she could, which then led to a heated discussion between coaches and sideline referee...

At the time of this writing, and with near-parity of games played, the order of teams is

    Linköping
    Umeå
    LdB FC
    AIK
    KIF Örebro
    K/Göteborg
    Djurgården
    Hammarby
    Sunnanå
    Kristianestad
    Umeå Södra
    Bälinge

Lotta Schellin signed a 2-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais and will fly to Lyon on Monday. Her annual earnings will be around SEK 1.5 million. ($233,000 USD).

    Schelin skrev på för Lyon

(Makes me wonder what Nordby makes there, because I cannot find a salary mentioned for her. Not now, and not when she signed.)

According to an unconfirmed source - but it is almost impossible to get these things confirmed and the source has been reliable on other occasions - Nordby got approximately € 70 K for her first six months with Lyon. She has since used the option to extend the contract with one year. There is also a rumour that FFC Frankfurt approached her first last year, presumable to replace Rottenberg, but that Lyon outbid them.

Lyon is still a one of their kind. I think they have spent € 60 millions in transfer fees this summer only. A couple of hundred thousands on the women's team in extra fees and wages is just pocket change. Several clubs in England, Spain and Italy also have women's sides and could of course do this too, but so far they have not been interested to invest.

Wasn't the 2008 Football Awards Gala on November 17? Does anyone have the news and winners from the event?
