Ok, got our flight worked out.

Going to book a hotel tonight. So is the Double Tree where most are staying then? I assume that's where the team will be as well?

No, I understand the team is staying someplace in Manhatten Beach.

I would strongly suggest booking a room at the Carson DoubleTree hotel as soon as possible, because I'm sure many New York fans will be making plans over the next 24-48 hours.

FYI to anyone looking to stay at the Doubletree Carson: US Soccer offers a discounted rate as well through their sponsorship with the hotel chain. You can book here: Team USA Advantage. I was able to get a rate of $98.10 per night for a 2-queen bed room.

Also, my wife and I set our flights as of tonight:
Fri, Nov 21 - 8:05pm Washington Dulles (IAD) > LAX (arrive 10:55pm) on Virgin America

*Probably watching OSU/scUM from hotel room, though there is an OSU alum bar called On The Rocks in Redondo Beach ('bout 20 minute drive) which we may consider.

    Mon, Nov 24 - 8:15am LAX > Baltimore-Washington (BWI) (arrive 5:15pm) on Southwest

Myshap & I are there. Arrive LAX 11:05 PM Saturday. We also have a car waiting for us so if you need a lift to the hotel, PM Myshap or me.

    Congrats on your MASSIVE win!

The Union Ultras (Chivas USA supporters) are going to be tailgating before the game. If any of you are interested, stop by and shoot me an e-mail, jsandate@unionultras.com or at www.unionultras.com

We welcome all of you for this game. If there are any questions regarding HDC or Carson, send me a line, too. Especially if you guys are bringing items for the game like banners or drums. Time to party.

    Once again, congrats.

    Re: AIRFARE CMH-LAX $218 (Round-trip)

I had a friend that hitchhiked from Seattle to Missouri in college for to support our school for the NCAA tourney...that was nuts...the school president did pay for his bus ticket home though after word got out a student hitchhiked halfway across the country!

Parking is usually $15.00, but for Special Events they raise it to $20.00.

I'll gladly pay it for the MASSIVE tailgate to ensue.

Would rather pay $20 for paved lot with palm trees and sun than $7 for mudpit and I-71.

I'm a Columbus native, Crew diehard (and Chivas season ticketholder) living in Los Angeles (Hermosa Beach). Is there a formal tailgate being set up? Anything I can do to help/bring?

Also, saw in an earlier post somebody mention "On the Rocks" in Redondo Beach as an Ohio State alumni club bar to watch the Michigan game on Saturday. It's a good spot, especially if coming from Ohio. Not to many places you get to look out on the Pacific Ocean and watch the Michigan game. The crowd is hit and miss and tends to be older. When Ohio State games are televised nationally there are never more than a dozen Ohio State fans who show up. It's always more crowded when the games are not televised nationally (Big Ten Network games). Obviously more tend to show up for the Michigan game but can't be sure this year since there is not too much hype surrounding this one. My tivo confirms that this one is being shown on ABC locally.

I live in Hermosa Beach, about 20 minutes from the stadium and near the ocean. If anyone is in the area on Saturday and looking to watch the Ohio State game or drink and talk Crew let me know.

Think of it this way - four people in the car means a $5 fee per person. Much better than $20.

Then again, that hotel south of the stadium where a lot of people are staying might have a few empty spots available on Sunday morning...

The hotel tells me they run a shuttle over to the HDC. They'll even pick you up later with a phone call. Even if you have a rental, it'd save you $20 and you won't be forced to operate an automobile while impaired.

There will be a Crew Union tailgate, we're working on the details. We would only need a few cars to drive (with beer, flags, banners, etc.) and everyone else can take the shuttle from the hotel.

Just be sure to tip the guy really really well so that he'll take the black and gold clad folks ahead of the red and white people that are staying at the hotel.

Since the Double Tree is about 2 miles from HDC does anyone want to do a walk like the HSH guys do from Ruby's to CCS?

We are (two of us from PDX) staying @ DT by HDC and will go on foot, might even hit the pub in hotel before hand ( if they serve before noon)

I don't know how many cars you all are planning to have, but I would be happy to offer up my car for supplies and taking a couple people from the hotel since I will be driving in. Let me know if it is needed.
