Under Armour Inc. plans to enter the soccer cleat business as early as 2010, a move that could have the legs to bolster the company’s sought-after international exposure. The Baltimore sportswear apparel company has been developing the cleat — or boot in soccer talk — and intends to test the product overseas on professional soccer players and in select retail stores across Europe next year, said Wayne Marino, Under Armour’s chief operating officer. Under Armour CEO Kevin A. Plank confirmed Oct. 28 the company’s intention to build its soccer business — but said the timing has to be right. “We absolutely will be in the soccer boot business,” Plank said while discussing the company’s third-quarter earnings. “As we learn and make sure that we have the product right before we do a full-blown market entry, we want to make sure consumers are screaming for it.” http://baltimore.bizjournals.com/baltimore/stories/2008/11/03/story1.html
they have acutally been testing in Germany for the past two seasons. my next door neighboor is a VP at UA and he said that its a synth boot they are testing on some Bundls players.
They're probably looking to land a decent sponsorship deal for their kits somewhere to increase exposure too. This way they can supply free boots to the youth teams/what-have-you as well.
uhuh. They already sponsor Hannover in the Bundesliga, that's probably where they're testing the boots. some people...
I know for a fact he has worn the prototype at least once. I wish I could find some proof to make you feel like a silly goose, sir.
4th best? Prem La Liga Championship SPL Ligue 1 ........ ........ Eircom League Serie A shouldn't be a surprise that Jimmy B could be testing UA cleats, just coz we haven't seen em in games is hardly proof. Just think all the hype for Drogs re the MercSLs that he never actually wore in any games! It's like how you might be sleeping with the chicks out of Plat'num but you gonna take an Aleisha Keys to the Grammy's.....or for bigg - you might be sleeping with crackwhore rent boys BUT you marry Cheryl Tweedy
I don't really agree with your league rankings.....(don't take anything I say personally please) 1.EPL 2.La Liga 3.Serie A 4.Bundesliga 5. Ligue 1 -french league and I didn't get whatever you were talking about in the paragraph. I hope I didn't go too off topic....
guys, Under armour is releasing the boots next april. I work at a soccer store and ther are giving us (as well as soccer.com) a 1 year exclusive deal with them. there will be two model lines: the first like will be like the vapor (called the create). they will have a top end like the vapor and a mid range like the talaria. the second will be like the predator (called the dominate) which a again will have a top of the line and a mid range. the create will be synthetic leather and the dominate will be kangeroo hope that helps you guys
they aren't. if they were, we'd see the 3 stripes. they let him wear the limited edition '66's that came out at the start of the year, and wore predators and copa's on and off the last year. so those HAVE to be the prototypes
i know, i know. jesus sorry for the spamming. but if jimmy bullard WAS testing for UA, then i hope there are pics. and off topic a little, why don't adidas just make bullard one of there key UK players?!?!? i think he's worn almost all the adidas styles over the last year. predators, copa, world cup's, adiPURE, world cup '66, i think worn F-50's as well when the first one's came out.
hey guys um all of the sudden all the talk is about adidas isnt this about under armour.............of course its understandable....they wont even show us what the cleats look like at my work....of course they showed our owner....lets just hope they dont bomb like reebok
