The best thing about the Dallas-Chicago result is it surely will get the Quakes' attention and there is a less likely chance that the Burn will be overlooked.
    Perfect timing.

Didnt get to see the whole game, because I was at work, but I gotta say LD had a great game from the highlights that I saw. Maybe now everyone can get off his back. Awesome win by the Quakes. Supporters shield here we come (knock on wood)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp This is a great point! The upcoming games (especially the playoff games) will be tough enough for the Quakes, so they better make sure that they win the games that they're "supposed to" win.

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp GO EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

It's all just a numbers game now, we still have 3 homne matches to sow up the west and an away match at colorado and then the annual season finale home-home series with LA. Should we do the business against dallas and the mets, then i see no reason why home field advantage throught the playoffs won't be ours.

    Random jibberish

I made the 3 hour trip up to KC and watched the quakes play an awesome game and i got to see landon's abs in person, which made the trip all worth while. ;) I saw people holding up a sign that said mulrooney, so did earthquake fans actually come all the way out to missouri to watch the game?

    Me too!

Incredible game and definite turn around from last week. The guys looked sharp and were doing a lot of running off of the ball. There seemed to be an extra spark that had been missing for a couple of weeks.

Incredible hat trick by LD! I am not sure what his problem has been lately, but there was a definite spring in his step last night. Poor Conrad!

The only negative thing I saw was the playing of DeRo. He drives me absoultely crazy when he tries to take on 4 players and falls flat on his face. I really don't think he is that much of a threat to opposing defenses and we know he can't shoot really well. His work ethic was high last night, but that could be because he hears the footsteps of Faria in the background. We will see.

    Great to see Dayak back!

Overall...Great match that put us back in the driver seat!

    Go Quakes!

One sour note, on channel 2(or was it 11) the sports guy said our hat trick was scored by Donovan Landon and Roberto Corrales got the assist on the last one. Who are these players and when did we sign them? Soccer is the ugly step-child of sports and reporting like this proves it:mad:

The best part of getting the "first hat-trick" was the fact that Landon set the record against Tony "the mouth" Meola. Is there any other keeper in the league that you would rather see shredded? Not me.....

That would mean that the Earthquakes would have gained promotion to the EPL and can shake the dust of this dirty little league off its feet...

A performance by a team that looks like it belongs at the top of the table and could very well win a second championship. Passing and combination play looked great all night, even into the last 10 minutes of the match. If they can play with that kind of execution and intensity there is no one that can stop them from lifting the Cup this year!

I told you all the Wizards suck. That performance by KC was right on par with out last 9 games. Credit goes to SJ for beating up a team that they should have beaten up. Often teams play down when they're against a lesser opponent. SJ just came out, smacked us across the face, and walked out with three points. See you in round one of the playoffs...unfortunately.

Nice that 30,000 plus KC fans got to see the Landon Donovan show! Now they know what an entertaining team looks like. :D

My thoughts exactly. No way you go into the playoffs without Jeff organizing things in the back. Great to see Troy back, and Eddie is definitely our guy in the back for the future. If you make any changes, it's Eddie in place for Roner. He's just playing too well to sit him.

As for Faria, "my source" tells me he is in town and ready to go. Still time to make a contribution...

I've got to think that even if he's not in the starting 11, once he's match fit, he's got to worry opposing defenses more than Lagos at this point. And, would be nice to see Faria and Jamil coming on around the 75 minute mark...

By the way, I don't care how they did it, 30K is a nice crowd. I suggested that a nice trade might be one of our goalkeepers for their entire marketing department. Haven't heard anything back yet...

My "source" ( ;) ) said on the game broadcast the other night that Faria gets into town today and will start training this week. No mention of him being ready to go.

Was it one of the John-John duo that said he should be the next one to get a look-see by The Bruce? Or was that my imagination? I think a lot of people have said the same thing here on these boards, and that ought to be definite.

Hat Trick! Exciting game, and of course, I loved the results. However, we were one "Wolde Harris" shank away from the game being tied 2-2. Our defense looked very shaky in that 10-15 period in the second half.

    Some observations:

    - Nice run by Ekelund to draw off defenders on the first goal.

    - Great execution on the second goal off of the corner.

    - Roner, Dayak, and Robinson had great games in the defense.

    - Nice save by Onstad on Preki's low shot in the first half.

    - Scary moment in the second half when Onstad let the ball slip through his hands. KC curse?

    - Same old DeRo. Love him and hate him at the same time.

    - Corrales sucked. Didn't show for the ball. Didn't time his runs. Walked back at the wrong times. Best play was the assist to Donovan on the last goal which didn't mean much.

    - KC field sucked. Did they fire the field maintenance guy from the Snickers commercial?

    - Ref kept calling "tick tack" fouls on the Quakes while allowing KC to abuse Richard. Should have given the KC player with the two hard challenges in the first half a yellow.

Unless Troy needs to rest, let Agoos sit another week. Need to continue to fine tune for the playoffs...

Make that another look see. He was in camp part of last year. Things may have cooled a bit with the injuries, but I hope he'll be called in before too long. He looks strong, steady and at times almost unbeatable.

    A couple notes:

    - First off, hats off to DeRo! DeRo provided a huge spark for the team and folks here are not giving him enough credit. Yeah, I know, he blew a couple great scoring opportunities. Fact is, though, he was a handful for the Wizards defenders all night long and that created space for Donovan. And how about that pass on Donovan's second goal?

    - A hat trick! Finally!

    - I was playing around with the numbers a bit to see if I could answer this: What would Donovan's numbers look like if he had played every match this year? He's got 25 points in 18 games (10 goals, five assists). A quick bit of math shows that those numbers project to 14 goals and seven assists, which would give him 35 points. Preki currently leads the league with 34.

(I know, projections don't mean much -- your mileage may vary and past performance is no guarantee of future results. I thought it was kind of fun, anyway.)

    - A hat trick! Really! Would have been cool if it was at home but at least Noah was there to represent the Casbah.

Great game. Thought the defense was a bit wobbly at times, but fortunately KC couldn't finish in an Amsterdam brothel and no harm was done.

I think I liked Donovan's 2nd goal the best. The way he slithered through the defense, laid off to DeRo, kept up his run and got the return pass...World Class Stuff!!!

Also great to put on a show for 30,000+ fans, away fans or no.

    Well done all around!!

Jay, I agree. In the previous game (DC?). Pwamme showed signs of reverting to his old self (head down, drive toward the goal, into three defenders) but he was much more the combination player in Saturday's game against KC. As FlashMan says, the second LDo goal was the best, primarily because it was this excellent example of teamwork. If he stays on this track, Mr. Hair Canada will make himself even more valuable.
And yes, mm, you're right. I forgot that he had been in the US Nat camp before.
