It's nearly go time people. Here's the deal. I'll be getting to RFK around 10:30 am to set up our section. I believe the gates open at 11:00 We've been offically shut out of Section 120, the USA's home at RFK. But we're going to take it over. I figure if enough of us show up, it will be ours.

La Norte is bringing the whole effin show, and those of you who've seen it know how impressive it is. We'll have confetti, toilet paper, drums, banners, flags and lots of noise. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave your seats and come join us. Just follow the sound of the drum.

If you can show up early and help me set up, great. I can use all the help I can get. Even though our Fed has sold us out, we must rise above and support our team though thick and thin.

Our team needs us. It's up to every one of us to will the women over the top in this critical game. Will you stand up and be counted?

So, we're just walking into 120? How much are tickets?

I think they're around $35, which is way, way to steep, IMHO.

Maybe some of the money will go back to the WUSA. ;)

How are we getting into the section though?

Also, what's the expected attendence for this game? Has anyone heard an estimate?

I dunno, but i have been able to sell some tix for like 5X face value. So, there must not be any lower level seats left. If anyone needs tix and wants to pay an exorbitant amount, check ebay!

BTW, why is the chick on the left flaunting her cooch on bigsoccer?

(better question: why am i asking why?)

The Post today has a quote from Goldwater saying that 57k of the 150K seats for WWC games at RFK have been sold, with most of those for the US game.

When I checked TicketMonster a couple of weeks ago it was showing seats in the 400's but none in the lower level....at least none at a reasonable price. I think the tickets are WAY overpriced for these games, especially the ones not involving the USA. My friends all balked at how much the tickets cost. So we'll just watch on TV.

I have seats in 465, up in the sun (or is it rain). If I see y'all have taken over, I'll come down, or I may go sneak in with Sam's Army, wherever it is they are hiding them.
Heck, I may just enjoy the game from way up there too much to move anywhere, it's been a long time since I've seen an actual game from far enuff away to see plays instead of being able to talk to the players from the front of 134 ;)

Are walk up tickets available? I owe my wife.
If Thamlin or some of the La Norte crew is around that would make the whole thing better.

Does anyone have any clue what the parking situation is going to be like, if Isabel decides to raise the Anacostia above lot 8?

as for the game, i'll be there... possibly watching the last game Mia Hamm will ever play at RFK.

Has this "bumrushing of 120" ever been done before, at any sporting event?

Tempting as 120 sounds, I'll be in the Barra Brava section on Sunday, 8th row (and taking photos of Cat Reddick or Mia whenever possible).

You'll get some great closeups from La Norte.

Will there be a Screaming Eagle or Barra Brava section on Sunday?

would it be terribly inappropriate for me to threaten the life of the swedish keeper? (How do i do that in swedish?)

Also, what do people think are the chances that Sunday league games at the Soccerplex will be canceled due to that bitch Isabel? I have an important match that coincides with the WWC match.

Swedish? I have enough trouble in English.

For WWC 1999, I was sitting behind the goal with The Choir -- I got them to chant "Du bist ein Mann" and "Gehe nach Hause" at the German keeper.

That's one of my soccer fandom high (or low) points.

Heh, I didn't mean to imply that the SEs or BB will be there on Sunday, just that our seats are in section 137.

The best I can do for you in Swedish is, "hey doe". It's not spelled that way in Swedish, but it means hello.

Just a thought, but if Sachin has enough old stubs from DCU games, he could "scuff" a couple dates, distribute, and use them for access into 120. The ticket checkers don't usually check too hard if you act like you belong there, and carrying banners, drums and the like will probably get you in.

    Thx,

    Jay!

If anyone asks, tell them you are there to support El Salvador - they'll let you right in.

    Sorry. I couldn't help it.

I went to pick up my press pass today. The parking lots are a MESS. And there are no crews out cleaning them up. I also drove into the entrance for lot 5, but was told I had to park in lot 8. The tunnel was open, and I asked the CSC goons if I could drive in that way. No, they said. They made me drive back the lot 5 entrance THE WRONG WAY, cross over the road that goes around the stadium, and enter lot 8 that way. When I tried to leave, all the other exits from lot 8 were closed. Guess how I got out? Through the "forbidden" tunnel and out lot 5's actual exit.

Way to go Stadium Authority and CSC.

    Take Metro, everyone!

The parking lots had been used by Pepco to distribute dry ice and every bama from Capitol Hill to Congress Heights came.
