I gotta go with Dallas...sorry Burn fans. I know they can come up with something better than that.

I actually don't think the uniforms in MLS are that bad anymore. I just dislike some of the emblems. Kansas City would have to be my least favorite. It looks like something from the Care Bears.

Yeah, the kits are not that bad compared to previous years. I think they need to work on some of the badges and get rid of the team logos in the front. Other than that they look pretty good on t.v.

Yea, if one team's jerseys look pathetic it has to be the Galaxy. Was teal a beautiful color???? Of course not, however it is better then this horrendous mock up of Gold/Black/Forest Green.

As someone else said, it is more of a question of the symbols of the teams. I think the Burn's symbol is horrendous. The Revs (despite having surprising support from their fans...in another post a lot of people liked it) is stupid. How can you have an American flag with blue instead of white stripes on the home kit???? If it were molded into a sort of sheild...the same symbol some how, I wouldn't mind it. As is, it is inane.

The crew should do something about their symbol also. I don't know how, but something. Those three guys look stupid (although their jerseys, both the first and second kits are the class of the league...now if they would just remove the "Columbus Crew" from the front)

I don't care much for the new Galaxy jerseys either. I still haven't bothered to buy the new one.

I'm not a big fan of the team names ironed on the front, especially on LA's, and i'd much rather have nothing or even a sponsership logo on the front and center of the shirt.

DC's and Columbus's without the lettering are the best and a good example for what the rest of the league should do.

I also give praise to Columbus for not having a white away shirt.

Although I think Columbus' uniforms are great, I can't handle the name and the badge. It's so disco. It ranks right up there after the Wiz and the San Jose Clashes/Lobsters/Scorpions.

With that in mind, I hate all the away whites. Individually they're not too bad, but it's annoying and ugly to see it all the time in almost every match.

In the vein that Peddie discussed, I would suggest that you should either have the team name on the front or the team logo. Not both. They look a little clumsy together. Also, I hope we can eliminate the corporate sponsor logos from the backs of the jerseys. And I hope that's an innovation of our's that the rest of the world follows. No extraneous corporate sponsor logos that besmirch the club uniform. I cite DC United as my paradigm. They have at least the best uniforms in our confederation and among the best in the world.

i would have to agree with the others that the uniforms are much improved but some of the emblems need work. but i have a feeling that the uniforms & emblems are moving to a more traditional direction (instead of what we had to deal with in 1996). afterall, the metros and rapids had a makeover in the offseason prior to this season. so i wouldn't be surprised in the wizards or crew did a little tweaking and modified their emblems sometime in the near future. i just hope that the individuals in charge of the new expansion teams take their time and comeup with decent club names as well as kits & emblems...

The Galaxy jersey I hate. Someone on here once said it was like a crossing guard! It's as bad as the jerseys we used to wear on my U14 team.

Actually, this is the first year I can honestly say that I don't mind the jerseys. In previous years there was always at least one that I truly disliked, but this year they're all fine by me. I probably like the look of the current Puma Fire jerseys the least, but they're fine.

I really like the current DC United jersey ... but the side mesh really ruins it. I would love to see it without any mesh.

San Jose's looks good, but last years looked better. Ditto for Chicagos.

Metros home is an improvement, but the away isn't much to look at.

    Crew jerseys are quite sharp.

Colorado's look good, but that has most to do with dropping Kappa.

Dallas' look fine, but last years were better.

I think KC's look quite good both home and away, I like the more traditional look they've settled on.

LA's jerseys are a huge improvement IMHO.

New England's aren't so hot, but they're not horrible either.

All in all, a quick look at the 1996 jerseys (where's Lowecifer with that picture when you need him), makes you truly appreciate how nice todays look.

I was a day away from purchasing a 2003 Crew uniform, as I hadn't bought one since '99 (the best one they've ever had). Then came April 5, when I watch in horror on ABC as they take to the field with "Columbus Crew" in huge letters on the front of their shirt. Some clubs can at least make it look halfway decent (Kansas City and Chicago come to mind), but the huge letters spelling COLUMBUS CREW convinced me to keep my $70 in my pocket for the time being.

I don't mind the sponsor ads. If it brings a bit of extra cash into the league, so be it. It doesn't really take away from the shirt too much, in some cases...New England can make the red and blue of Pepsi look good, but a blue Pepsi ad on a black Crew shirt doesn't look quite right, nor does the red "Budweiser" adorning the shirt of Los Angeles. It grows on you, I suppose.

As for logos, what the fvck is a Burn anyway? Some guys can go home and say, "I'm a Metrostar" or "I'm a Wizard," but how do you tell someone "I'm a Burn?" Not that I'm necessarily a fan of the Crew nickname either, but again, after eight years, it has grown on me.

What I think MLS clubs should do is come up with four halfway-decent looking uniform combinations for the upcoming 2004 season, and have the fans vote on the new strip using the internet and matchday program. It happened at Leyton Orient while I attended a match there in 2002, and would likely increase merchandise sales by assuring that a good percentage of the fan base would be supportive of the upcoming year's strip.

the metro's white away kit is horrendous...looks rediculous on television and in person. blech, i know the mutiny kit a long time away was bad <oh hell all the mls kits were bad back then> but those "nurses uniforms" they wear are just plain ugly as hell.

Are the team names on the front of the jerseys screen printed, ironed on, or raised felt?

Does anyone else think that if the Rapids switched the blue with their old green it would look tight?

Yes, and have thought that since day one. Blue and black should be home, green and black for the road.

Agreed. Whenever I wear my yellow 2003 jersey out, I always have people telling me that they love the jersey. Heck, most(if not all) aren't soccer fans, but there's something very classy 'bout the kit.

The worst is by far the Gals, the sash is just not attractive.

The G's kits are the worst. Period.

    I like DC's all black.

Best ever is Dallas' third (once again, all black) kit.

    Yep.

    Amen.

I know this sounds snotty, but having white away kits is so American! There are so many colors to choose from and how can we be so bland as to constantly pick white as road color. Teams should solidify their colors for home and then come up with something for the road....ANYTHING, but white!!!

    LA's old one was better

if that is saying much. DC Utd black ones are sweet. The Revs could do better. Crew ones are sweet (home+road), Wizards white look ok/home duty, Colorado home (sweet), Dallas yucky, MetroStars home (sweet)!

The only jereseys I hate are the Galaxy's and that is becuase of color. The teal home jerseys looked pretty good to me and I liked the away white jersey with Los Angeles on the chest. Besides that I don't have any problems with the uniforms this year. Kansas City has improved theirs with the all blue and the Metros are a definite improvement. All we need now are some colored away kits and better badges and we will have a professional league.
