I am really excited about this signing this gives us the striking threat we are looking for. Hopefully we see him in the starting XI against columbus.
Congrats to the Bulls for finally getting this done. Nice to see their persistance pay off. I saw Kandji play in person in the USL playoffs last year and this season on TV. I can't guarantee he'll succeed in MLS but I'm pretty sure he will. One question - do players with asylumn like Kandji has get classified as internationals in MLS or is he counted like a player with a Green Card? Also, since he has been in the US since, at least, his Sr. year of HS, how close is he to getting said Green Card?
Just wanted to say Mac is an amazingly cool guy. He is one of the nicest players we've ever met and he seems to love to interact with fans. He has been wonderful towards my young son during his recovery from a horrible soccer injury with supportive words of encouragement and a few letters.. FTR- Quite a few of your players have also been just as great It has made the difference between my son giving up when faced with what seemed impossible, to finding his way out of the wheelchair after 6 months. He is now walker free too and in a leg brace. It's been over a year and he still has a long road , but he's had some much needed support from his soccer heroes!
Can't wait for him to come I think this is a step up and I hope he does well I pull for these kind of guys the most would love to see him turn into another Jozy
Very cool. He's got good hype around him, but so far that's all it is. I'm not penciling him to start alongside Angel right away. He's been playing in the USL. He needs to get salted first against MLS-level defenders, and earn his place.
Congratulations lads, you got a great player there, and i suppose i will have to keep an eye on the goings on in NY now
well don't think you've got the best player in the world. Kandji is awesome, but his touch isn't there yet and he doesn't perform well against more physical defenders, he is nowhere as strong as Bill Archer describes. His legs are twigs, but his feet are the fastest i've ever seen. He only started playing striker for the Backs this season, he was wide right all of last year, so he doesn't make the textbook runs yet. However, if he is allowed to run in space at defenders i don't know who is more dangerous. Give him time, he'll adapt and i hope he'll be great. I'll certainly watch more NYRB

Probably just me, but skill set wise Kandji reminds me of Mamadou Diallo, and from what i hear Kanndji has a better state of mind, hopefully he has a simliar goals per game ratio like Diallo had when he was with the Metrostars.
I hope your son gets thru all this and I hope you two will have a chance to come up here next season or when Red Bull Arena is open to see Kandji here in action.

We haven't a player of that calibre in the team, will be a none sense not to play him right away....Because Magee & Wally the only can do, is drag the rhythm of the game with they misses shut to goal, lack of abilities & wrong passes, timid approaches, etc....Kandji can't do nothing worst than what this to "strikers" been doing for five years....
I hope Mac is highly successful in NY. I will be watching on TV. He is a fine player. Some of us called him "The Show" in Atlanta. Good Luck Mac.
