Yes it was I'm glad people listened to it and did it. I figured the Brazilians would usually wear yellow, what color do they wear?
Beautiful stadium, looks very intense playing there. I can see why visitors have a hard time over there.
Looks like yellow to me. Also a very impressive stadium, though I don't like round stadiums, but still nice.
They were supposed to play the home games like this Mex-Honduras-- Estadio Azteca Mex-Jamaica-- Estadio Cuahutehmoc Mex-Canada-- Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna but Erikson wanted to play all the games in the Azteca because he liked it so much. They were only able to change the Jamaica game.
My goal for next year is to visit the Azteca either for Chivas-America or USA-Mexico. Beautiful stadium...
Yep that was it, SGE liked so much the atmosphere at the Azteca that he asked Femexfut to play all the home games of Mexico at the Azteca. The federation managed to cancel the guys from Puebla, but in order to avoid cancellation the guys from Chiapas bagan to sell the tickets ASAP, I think they sold out pretty fast and thus Femexfut was unable to switch the game from Chiapas to Azteca.
That's another thing, I don't know how the hell they thought it was a good idea to schedule a game in Puebla during the rainning season. It has the worst drain in Mexico.
They should schedule more games outside of Azteca. Monterrey and Guadalajara have big stadiums as well.
Indeed, especially non USA-Mexico games. I think it'd be great for the Mexican fans outside of Mexico City to see their team. I'd always put USA-Mexico in the Azteca though, it just belongs there somehow. If we finally manage to beat you guys in Mexico during WCQ, I don't want it to be in the Oaxaca Municipal Stadium.
Yea exactly, they should give Mexicans in other cities the opportunity to see the team play. Like they did for tomorrow having the game at Chiapas.
Sven wanted to change all the games to aztca thats how much he fell in love with it , if not jamaica would have been playing against mexico in puebla's stadium
None of them replicate the environment of Azteca. Olimpico Universitario is the second largest stadium in Mexico and theres about a 35k difference in capacity between it and Azteca. Then again, the fans at CU are notorious for their vocal support.
When does the new Chivas stadium open? Has it become official that they're even getting a new stadium?
Chivas | Estadio de Chivas a un 45 por ciento avanzado Chivas | Para inaugurar su estadio Chivas traería a U2 y Manchester, Real Madrid y Chelsea
Yea but we don't need to play at Azteca against the smaller teams. We should only play at the Azteca against the U.S. or other big games.
Jalisco is always nice, so is the Volcan in Monterrey. For some reason we always end up playing in Chiapas. Who's stadium isn't that great. The only thing I don't like about CU is that the track pushed the seats farther back, other then that, its a great ground.
Well, good luck to all the teams in this group today. I'm expecting some really competitive matches today.
