Since Cruz Azul is blue wouldn't it be nice to have a new stadium that is blue and looks like Chelsea stadium??

Or how about Toluca with a red stadium that looks like Manchester United's Stadium for the color red??

I like the english style of stadiums where the seats come right up to the field. I havn't noticed any fences in english stadiums. I wonder what happens when a ball gets kicked up into the fans without fences?

Actually they can't, it's part of the FMF regulations, they need a fence in order to keep the fans in the stands, what I don't remember is how tall those fences are required to be, something between three and five meters high I think, the only way they can take the fences down is by having a ditch between the field and the stands just like in Aguascalientes and San Luis.

Besides fences being an eye soar I think it could be a safety hazard in case of fire, and overcrowding just like Heysel stadium were fences did not stop rowdy english fans and prevented people to escape, they had to jump over a wall that collapsed. In Bradford City stadium fire some people were lucky to escape the fire because there were no fences. those are cases that happen to old stadiums but still think that FMF should consider this.

I was in Tampico last June, and I was pleasantly surprised. They have cleaned up the city a lot from the last time I went. The Beach is pretty nice now.

I think it might be time to remove them too. We have all seen that if they fans want to take them down they can because they are pretty flimsy. They are more of an intimidator. The police and security are what needs to be greatly improved that will stop the violence more than the fences if you ask me.

Estadio Internacional Monterrey was a private project that never received any backup from neither Tigres, Rayados or the local goverment.

The stadium that would be announced tommorrow is backed almost entirely by FEMSA, the company that owns Rayados, and it has nothing to do with Estadio Internacional, this stadium would be only for Rayados. According to rumors the new stadium would be named either Estadio Tecate or Estadio Eugenio Garza Sada (maybe it would have both names) it would be build in the municipality of Guadalupe with a capacity to 40 or 50k fans, apparently the company in charge of building the stadium would be HOK and it would be modeled after an english stadium.

If thats true I would say something like Emirates, most of the stadiums I have seen in Europe are kind of looking that way.

I don't know, I have not seen anything. It doesn't surprise me though that Rayados is going for a different design, they never backed the Estadio Internacional de Monterrey project. Now its up to Tigres to see if they want to pick up that project on their own.

Considering it's going to be 40,000 - 50,000 capacity and they want it 'english style'...it's probably going to look something like Stamford Bridge Stadium or White Hart Lane..hopefully....Those types of stadiums are awesome cause the seats are so close to the field..

    That's cool…

at leats in the 3d redering.

With he actual ugly background of Monterrey, the contrast will be unbelievable. Famsa, Gigante, Ceasar's Pizza, tendederos, tinacos, combis con changos colgando de las puertas, uno que otro ladron ahi en unos de los varios techos :D

But that's cool. Whatever it takes to modernize the city and the clubs.
