You can say that about every Fire player this year except maybe Busch. To a man, our defending on set pieces has been nothing short of a disaster. It alone has cost us at least 10 points so far this season, possibly more. When we get bounced out of the play-offs, it will probably be by an opposition goal scored off a set piece. And that is primarily (but not entirely) a coaching problem, btw.

    Truth. Every word.

Even when we were dominating early on, our defenders were still losing their marks on set pieces. We were just luckier then that more didn't go in.

So if Nyarko and Herron are injured, does Frankowski get to make the bench?

They keep breaking in Section 8 so we would appreciate if he could make some new ones. Just make them a bit stronger.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to bunge again.

I think you're making something out of nothing here, as Segares has not really pulled back from going forward. He's still been joining into plenty of attacks since the game you're referring too. At times, he makes risky plays, but he's been our best defender up to this point in the season.

From Luis: "Thorrington is wearing a cast on his nose and is sporting two black eyes due to an elbow he received from the Houston Dynamo's Dwayne De Rosario on Sunday. He said the doctors had to jam his nose back in place."

    ooh that had to hurt

He said he'll play through the pain (in CHICAGO, no less!) if that's all the problem is. BMickeyB and JFT.... might just inspire a few others to step it up and stop their whining.

    Who's whining?

All the talent that's been left to rot on the bench?

Or, all the talent that's been left to rot on the field?

Not sure if it belongs in this thread, but just out of curiosity, who do you think the other 5 are that he's referring to?

    If I had to guess:
    Blanco
    Segares
    Rolfe

Soumare's form under Osorio was nowhere near what it is this year, and McBride didn't play for Osorio period. Think he'd still include them in that statement?

The Fire website says that Steven King is likely to fill in in the midfield tomorrow. wonderful

    I wasn't too 'Fired up' before reading this Hamlett quote...but now I'm...uh...what's the word I'm looking for...sleepy? no...hungry? no...desperate? maybe a little...

    Go Fire.

Hey guys, Dylan Butler from BigAppleSoccer.com and MLSnet.com. I was actually in Osorio's office when he said this and I asked him that exact question following the conference call.

This is his response, adding a sixth player actually

Soumare, McBride, Blanco, Mapp, Rolfe, Thorrington

Is that Pause or is that a tree, either way they both get the same amount of foward pass and shots on goal.

Looks like the game is soldout, on ticketmaster you can't buy any tickets. I just hope we don't stink up the field tonight in front of a sellout crowd.

I wonder if this is accurate . . . Luis reported on his blog that they weren't expecting any more than 16-17k.
