I was absolutely horrified when I'd heard the RNC used Heart's Barricuda. Heart is one of my favorite all-time bands, hands down, and I know they sure as hell don't support the Republican platform in any way, shape or form. The Sisters Wilson tried to play nice when the Reps first used the song, in that they requested their music not be used. That request went unheeded. They are now filing a cease and desist order. IF they still hold the publishing rights to the song (and I think I recall them being one of the few bands/song writers who fought to retain their publishing rights), they can sue the hell out of McCain and Palin for using their song without permission. I'm also curious to know if the RNC paid ASCAP and NARAS fees to play music that is still under copyright laws. If not, they should get popped for that too.

And, yes, my money would also be on Nancy for Celebrity Death Match. She wields a mean axe!

Yeah but it's my uncle's b-day weekend as well. His birthday is the day after mine, and his schedule is even tighter than mine is. Basically it's that weekend...or November.

 

Welcome to my world of being too busy to do everything, and having, at times, too many options. Never seems to fail that I will have a few free weekends, then all of a sudden a gazillion things I want to do fall on one day. The universe really needs to plan better so we can do it all!

But yeah in terms of small social events I'm always busy and having to make choices. His stuff is like...BIG stuff, though--more of an "I already have plane tickets to Hawaii" kind of thing.
