    Hi yall..
I created a new league on www.xperteleven.com and need some teams - the more the better so don't be shy..

Xperteleven is a light version of Football Manager but best of all -- IT'S FREE!!!

You create a team name, stadium name, colors- sign players, schedule training.. The game requires very little attention- you can login twice a week after the matches for 10 mins or login every day for an hour to scout the opposing team..

You keep your team from season to season- so when we get enough teams (16 or so) we can setup two divisions for promotion and relegation.. But we'll get to all that later..

Just go here to join: http://www.xperteleven.com/?lid=164818

Read some of the instructions and I'll post more when we get more teams..

    League ID: 164818
    League Name: BigSoccer YA League

Just as an FYI, Dynamo Kev did come to the mods and get prior approval for this.

Hope the league goes well folks.

I won't sticky the thread but you can feel free to bump it as needed.

And I thought I would have to wait for the release of Football Manager Live for an online manager game. Joining now.

Great response- 6 teams (which is the league minimum)-- so far we have..

    Camden Townies
    SC Appoo
    Hudson River FC
    Worthington FC
    United Greats
    Las Vegas FC

You should have your players now- so setup some friendlies and start training.. We'll start the season when we get 10 teams.. unless you want to wait for 20 (two divisions)..

Is it based on real players or is it all fake names?

Re: Xperteleven Manager Game (new players welcome)

Fake names and players.. My one tip is to buy young players, blood them early, train them often to increase their skill for future seasons..

We now have 11 teams- I'd like to get 16-20 by Sunday then start the season mid-week.. If we have 8 teams per division we'll go with 3 relegation/promotion spots if we have 9 or 10 it will be 4.

Once the season starts - no more teams can be added.. People can apply for the league- for the next season or take over a current team that becomes inactive (teams become inactive by not participating/setting lineups for 2 consecutive matches)..

2 matches per week so the season will last 8-10 weeks..

    So far:
    Camden Townies
    Hudson River FC
    Wolverines FC
    New York United
    FC Columbia
    SC Appoo
    Worthington FC
    FC Roblar
    Fighting Tigers FC
    United Greats
    Miami FC

One more thing.. If you want (and you should) to schedule a friendly with another team- click on that team and select "Challenge Team"..

Re: Xperteleven Manager Game (new players welcome)

Buy new players (you can have a total of 20- you start with 18). Sell or Sack players you don't want.. Do Sponsor Events- gives you cash.. Write Press Releases (your sponsor will like the press and give you cash).. Setup a Friendly.. Setup training to improve the "form" of certain players (training cost $ so be careful).. Players 'form' changes throughout the season- their 'skill' level only changes at the end of each season..

    Check your mailbox..

When the matches start (hopefully mid-week) you can buy match reports from other games to scout the formation and players used for upcoming opponents..

It seems like its going to take a while to build up $. Does the money come in faster when the games start or are you limited to the one sponsor activity a week and selling players to raise cash?

Re: Xperteleven Manager Game (new players welcome)

It does take awhile.. rather than giving you a lump sum at the start of the season you get it spread out via Sponsor Events.. Press Releases of 250+ will also get you money- and selling players..

The transfer market is shared with other leagues so you won't necessarily be selling/buying from a team in our league..

Re: Xperteleven Manager Game (new players welcome)

Thanks very much to the mods for allowing this thread..
The season is set- there was a lottery to see who went in which division (BigSoccer Premier and Divsion 1).. I'm stuck in Division 1 so I don't want to hear any bitching..
    3 promotion/relegation spots - match days are Sat and Wed at 3:30pm EST(starting 7/12/08)

If anyone else wants to join the league, sign-up at www.xperteleven.com with the info in the first post on this thread and put in an application.. If someone quits the league during the season I'll turn the team over to you.. Otherwise we'll have more teams join in the next season which will start at the end of August..

(mods- please don't close this thread so i can bump it in August).. Managers please use the xperteleven (mailbox, forum, press releases) to discuss and not this thread..

    thanks

Re: Xperteleven Manager Game (new players welcome)

I suck. I got blown out in all of my first four games to bounce back and get to .500 by winning the following four. After that, in my last four matches, I've lost three and tied one. I'm in relegation zone with two games to go. I need to pull a Fulham and win these last two.

Thanks for setting it up Dynamo Kev!

(And if you're a poster who hasn't joined, you should really think about it --- I have one of the weaker teams in the league, and I'm still having a blast. ...and it doesn't take up too much time either!)

Is the game similar to Hattrick? If anyone plays both, it is better/worse?

This is a fun game. I have a team in a league set up on one of my English message boards and it can get quite competitive.

It only takes a few minutes out of your week for all those worried about upsetting your busy schedules.

I send in an Application Dynamo Kev...

    This could be bad :)

Just reading the rules... sorry if I missed... but will this league allow "dirty tricks"?
