Zog doesn't even cover the left back spot anymore. Colo is doing his job while he stands in the midfield.

    Put in Enrique.

There's the full time whistle and a good three points over a potential banana-skin here.

Wasn't the best display, and thank f*ck that Shay is back to his best. With the limited options we had up front for this game its good that we've managed to nick it 1-0. These are the kind of games you need to take all three from if you have ambitions of doing anything. So I'm happy til Tuesday when we have Coventry away in the CC.

Hopefully Martins isn't seriously injured, it would be a problem if we had to stick Owen in from the start. Still great to have him back and hopefully he could get himself 20+ this season? And signed to a new contract

Doesn't sound like it was the best performance, but the last three years or so we would have drawn or lost this game. I'll gladly take the three points. Fourth in the league pending the late game and tomorrow's results.

It's three points that I will gladly take. For the majority of the match, aside from about 5 minutes in the second half, we had the better of it. We needed to create more, but we got a goal and that was all we needed. Shay coming up huge once again. I tell you what, if you ask me two weeks ago if we take 4 matches from the first two, well yeah.

Shay Given, absolute life saver from what seems to have been a "Steven Taylor Special". Michael Owen scoring when he isn't technically match fit is always a good sign.

Jonas looks to have been keeping up his form from the Man Utd game, at least to some extent. Really makes it look at least a little promising for us this season?

...there is no way, that Charlie is better than Enrique at Left Back is there? I mean, how badly must Enrique be in form right now for Keegan to not play him?

Lets hope Arsenal doesn't make a huge signing before Saturday, maybe we can take advantage of their poor form.

Arsenal got a wake up call today against Fulham but if we can have everyone healthy we can definitely fight for three points against the "young gunners."

Taylor back to form. I'm surprised he wasn't carded for either handball before the penalty. Someone should strap down his arms in practice to keep him from this chronic mistake.

I didn't think Martins was doing all that bad. I think they were looking to spring him on a give and go, which entailed him getting the ball deep and passing out to Duff or Butt for the return ball. Bolton's defense clogged up the paths most of the time. And Milner was hardly used on the right. It seemed we were concentrating on our left flank most of the day.

Good job from the technical staff getting Martins subbed out quickly, so we didn't have a repeat of last week when ManU struck whilst Taylor was off.

    Thx,

    Jay!

It was a good win. Its never easy to beat boltons "bunker futbol." If everyone is healthy a win tuesday in the Carling cup and alteast a draw aturday against Arsenal seems very achievable.

not to be overly optimistic but after i watching arsenal lose to fulham i am full of hope or next week. arsenal without fabregas doesnt have a clue what to do with the ball.

The pessimist in me says that since Arsenal have something to prove... we will be the whipping boy.

Lowest for 9 years apparently but its hardly really low when you consider Bolton brought less than 1000 fans so that means we only had 2-3000 empty seats on our part.

Plus the season ticket fiasco must have been a factor.
