Damien Duff scored a hattrick for Newcastle today as they beat Hartlepool 4-1. Steve Hunt scored for Reading in a 2-1 win at Milton Keynes.
Robbie Keane made his debut for Liverpool tonight against Villareal in Spain. Was taken off at halftime, didn't score. Watched Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest on Setanta. Andy Reid had excellent moments, but I thought he faded badly in the second half. Murphy was generally poor, though had a few bright flashes. Stokes' cameo was very encouraging.
Ronnie O'Brien at SJ Earthquakes in MLS...he makes a huge impact in MLS. Davidblue and Deiseboy...where in the Deise u from? I'm a Deise boy myself.
I am from Summerville Avenue in Waterford city , long time Waterford and Spurs fan and also looking forward at the moment to Waterford's game v Tipperary in the All Ireland hurling semi final on the 17th Aug. And you , what's your background ?
Cathal Brugha St in Waterford City, but in New Jersey as of now. I'm a big New York Red Bulls, Chelsea, and Celtic supporter. I'm tryin to get into the Waterford Blues, but they play very few matches on Setanta. I'm a huge Waterford Hurling supporter...met John Millan when I was home in January.
Thought Robbie Keane was very poor yesterday. And Richard Dunne was equally poor for Man City today, his giveaway led to the Danish side's goal.
Was sick last weekend, forgot my wee report Willie Boland scored for Hartlepool JJ Melligan scored for Leyton Orient Gary Mulligan scored for Gillingham Graham Coughlan scored for Shrewsbury And then in the Carling Cup Peter Murphy scored for Carlisle Billy Clarke scored for Darlington Damien Delaney scored for QPR Noel Hunt scored for Reading Alan Lee scored for Ipswich Clinton Morrison scored for Coventry
Okay fair enough. Well - I thought Steven Reid looked fit and sharp for Blackburn, and Andy Reid looked as solid as ever in central midfield for Sunderland. I'm looking forward to these two playing together for Ireland vs Norway on Wednesday. Steven's athleticism and Andy's vision has, on paper, the making of a good partnership. Robbie Keane was much improved, though he couln't find the net, on Wednesday's performance for Liverpool. Daryl Murphy showed some really bright flashes too. Cheers to Glenn Whelan and Keith Treacy, who both made their Premiership debuts today.
Stephen Reid did look good on Saturday, and I have to agree a midfield pairing of him and Andy Reid gives us some hope going into these WC Qualifiers. Duff looked sharp for Newcastle against United which is another plus, he did fade towards the end though.. Didn't see Dunne play yesterday, but judging from the 4-2 whalloping I assume he's still off to a slow start.
Looks like Dunne didn't feature for City on Sunday and was allowed to hook up with the Irish Squad early http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3440
Dunne is suspended thanks to a straight red in the final match of last season. He will play in Europe next week.
Slightly better this week Liam Lawrence scored a penalty for Stoke City Matt Holland scored for Charlton Stephen Hunt scored a penalty for Reading Stephen Quinn scored for Sheffield United Jimmy Ryan scored for Accrington Stanley Billy Mehmet scored for Saint Mirren
