A big mistake. The pitch will be all bumpy with all the shell craters and will remind the players of Lansdowne!
Anyone remember that awful group with Croatia, Yugoslavia and Macedonia? Hopefully FIFA don't just postpone the game again and again.
Neutral venue ordered: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/19/republicofirelandfootballteam.worldcup2010 Any ideas on where would be most likely?
I like that ideal. I doubt it would happen though they will probbaly meet half way somewhere. Moscow would be an intresting place to play it.
Thessaloniki in Greece would be an ideal venue for this match.A big city with international airport and a good stadium that holds 28,000 spectators could offer first class facilities for a World Cup game.GO IRELAND!
The game will be played on 6 September in Mainz. It's a rather small stadium with a capacity of just over 20.000 (which isn't necessarily bad as far as the atmosphere is concerned), but for this game only seats are allowed - which will reduce the capacity to 10.400. The good news is that Mainz is very close to Frankfurt Airport. EDIT: Sorry, must have overlooked your other thread...
