Just got back from the doc.

Apparently I can either keep the immobilizer on and lose the crutches... or I can lose the immobilizer and use the crutches.

I hate the immobilizer. But I still put it on to do stuff that needs the use of both of my hands.

THoughts on which is better? Immobilizer or crutches?

    Over here!
Crutches can totally be used as a weapon!!! :D

I go to the school of immobile = bad (with the exception of when something actually MUST be immobilized to set properly), so I'd personally want to get rid of that ASAP.

Can't you keep the immobilizer and use it as needed instead of the crutches as times? Is he making you give it back or something?

can you take the immobilizer off at night and keep movement? i dunno how it works.
i ahve to take my cast off at night and do ankle excercises so i don't lose mobility.

but i do hate crutches with a firey passion.
i always use them wrong so they hurt mah 'pits.

eff that. we have a bad history of human rights abuses too. we put the ******** in concentration camps in ww2 AND AND we put natives in forced schools where they couldn't speak their native tongue and were abused.

    see, were totally worthy.

    plus i just said ********.

Yeah... I have both the crutches and the immobilizer. I use both depending on the situation. Just trying to get a opinion on which one I should be using more.

You want to get movement as early as possible, and limit range of motion loss. If you are even partially weight baring on crutches, you should be able to do so. Also, if you are walking without crutches while wearing the immobilizer, you are leaving yourself open to having hip/low back issues because of the altered gait with the immobilizer. AND...the altered gait with the immobilizer is going to be much more difficult to retrain once you are full go again. Muscles have memory, and you'll get a great demonstration of that if you have the altered gait for too long.

Well, we get to see her, and the rest of Japan Softball again since they have some weird way of deciding what teams get to the Gold Medal game. I will be up at 2am watching, then staying up to watch the Gold Medal soccer game. I am SO going to be toast tomorrow.
