As much as I hate to say it, I think that if Wells starts, I think we'll lose.

The new guy can't play yet and Thorpe doesn't stand a chance with that defense in front of him.(unless Peralta and McTavish or Martinez start in the middle.)

    I guess this line-up:

    -------------------------Wells---------------------------
    Namoff-----------McT------------Peralta---------Martinez
    -------------------------Simms--------------------------
    Fred---------------------------------------------Guerrero
    --------------------Gallardo/Moreno----------------------
    ------------Moreno/Q---------------Emilio----------------

Gallardo will not play, and Moreno left tonight with an injured back. I'm hoping Peralta can play (he was on the subs bench tonight), but it's not a good sign that he wasn't subbed in even with our back line (except Namoff) playing terribly.

And Fred and Guerrero ran 90 minutes on that concrete they have for turf at Giants Stadium.

    Fabulous man management there Tommy.

Hopefully having four subs tomorrow night will make things easier for him.

Don't even get me started. Fred, Guerrero, Emilio, Simms, Namoff, McT. Unf#%cking believable! After playing 67 minutes Wednesday, Jaime hurt his back after a half. The FO is so worried about turnout, maybe they ought to be concerned with the result. Have to say this is about the same level of boneheadedness as the game before the playoffs last year.

No el muneco, possibly no Jaime.
    Maybe we get by.
IF the defense doesn't improve by leaps and bounds, we're toast.

    That being said, how about

    -------------Wells-------------
    Namoff--Peralta----Martinez----McTavish
    Quaranta-----Simms---------Guerrero
    --------------Fred---------------
    ------Emilio------Kirk/Thompson/Dyachenko--

subs could be Cordeiro; Vide or Carroll; and whatever 2 don't start at LF

Either that, or maybe a better result with Santino up top at LF, and the usual suspects coming in at RW? This way, either flank has at least 1 established vet positioned there- Namoff (R) & Guerrero(L)

Ugh... I didn't get to see the match as it happened. I DVR'd it but I spoiled it for myself and checked the score before I watched the game.

Needless to say I watched the goals (Props to Jaime for dancing like he did in the 97 final) but I deleted the game quickly as I didn't want to see that trash.

Now I am reading up on what actually happened and yea, horrible management Tommy.

70th minute, down by two, with a huge game 2 days away... CONCEDE!!!

Rest the major players... not Vide and Carrol.

I have to say that I was stunned to see the same lineup from the Kansas City game trot out for the pre-game introductions. This doesn't bode well for tomorrow night, especially if Gallardo, Moreno & Peralta can't play or, rather, can't play effectively.

Shades of the last game of the 2007 regular season, indeed.

I think we should try 4-3-3 with active side attacking when Gallard is not playing.

    -------------Wells-------------
    Namoff--Peralta----McTavish----Martinez
    Quaranta-----Simms---------Burch
    Fred--------Emilio------Guerrero

Don't assume the lack of subbing is tied to fitness. It may have just been tactical at that point. Play Dyachenko during a lost cause match and save Peralta for a match meaning more at that point does make more sense.

Any word on when Francis Doe might return from his foot infection? Guessing it's not going to be tomorrow night.

Where is everyone reading this Gallardo is out news? I saw he didn't make the trip to NJ, but does that mean he's out or not at least on the bench for this match?

If I were Simms and saw that line up, I would call in "sick." Let's see, no effective defense from my outside midfielders and one central defender coming back from surgery and the other in a very poor run of form. Sounds like the lineup for a great many goals -- from New England.

What's with all the Guerrero posts in people's lineups? He's cup-tied already, right?

    Pardon the interruption, but ....
Geesh, sometimes you wonder if ya have to do everything--
    To date, folks-
March Burch - wnp due to card suspension
Guerrero and Vide- USSF confirmed only competed w/ San Jose in prelims, not USOC tourney "proper". Whatever- they're available.
Injury updates- Mediate and Olsen still out, Peralta on active roster for Sunday's match, Gallardo still not rehabbed yet
Could he surprise us all? Sure, but until a report tomorrow on his fitness, it's all pure speculation.
Crayton will not be available this week, but might possibly be ready in time for Saturday's match.

We now resume our regularly informed scheduled discussion.

Can understand the sentiment but what line up would you roll out considering who is available?

My guess at our best for tomorrow.

---- Crayton ---- //Don't think he is available. Damn.
Namoff - McT-Peralta-Martinez //Peralta for at least a half. Carroll as a sub.
    ---- Simms ----
Fred ------------- Guerrero //Tino and Fred interchange wing and central
    ---- Tino ----
    ----Jaime -- Emilio ----

I actually would like to see a 3-5-2

    ----------------Wells-------------------
    Namoff---------Peralta----------Martinez
    ----------Vide----------Simms----------
    Q-------------------------------Guerrero
    ----------------Fred--------------------
    --------Emilio----------Moreno----------

Try to stop NE's attack in the midfield to prevent them from swarming our struggling defense.
