    Okay. This isn't even deserving a response, but I'm in a smart-ass mood, so here goes. Zidane is one of the best players of all time. OF ALL TIME. Becks, while being a great footballer, does not now nor will he ever come close to Zidane's skill. Zidane is an absolutely fantastic player. He has played magnificently for France and Real Madrid. He didn't let down his entire country like Becks did in '98. Not that I have anything against him, but that was extremely foolish...

    As per original question - obviously Zidane is the more complete player. So it's obvious what the sane choice is.

    How about the significance of what they do off the field? Beckham: creates hero worship, helps sell things. Zidane: a hero for those who need one (Africans making their way in Europe) and symbolically uniting France.

    It will be interesting to see the OPTA stats for the 2 of them at the end of the season. I've got a feeling that you will see Beckham gives more end product, assists, goals, tackles made. Whether he is the better player or not Beckham may well be the more productive player.

    my best player award is passed down from pele to maradonna? to zidane. zidane is definetley a better player than beckham. beckham is a good player.
