a couple of absolute gems from Vladimir last night. he was in top form. he may not be Hearts fans cup of tea but he does make for excellent reading material. "The Scottish league is only an instrument in the hands of the mafia and they are working really well." but after putting Rangers out of Europe his translated conversation, with Chick Young of all people which just makes it better, was superb. Young: Vladimir, that was some result for Kaunus. Do you think that is the finest result Kaunus have ever had in Europe? Romanov: Well, you must remember we had a very tough match in the last round in Andorra, and were without a number of our best players. Young: What does this result do for the reputation of the SPL? Romanov: I think it showed that Rangers would compete well in the Lithuanian league. sheer quality from Vlad.
not sure. they haven't sold anyone else so its looking ok so far, surprisingly. still, that's when Vlad likes to pounce. once they start getting comfy...
Falkirk 0-1 Rangers McGregor saved a penalty and former Kaunas player Velicka scored at the other end. Hearts 3-2 Motherwell David Clarkson brought Motherwell back from a goal down twice but it wasnt enough when Mikoliunas won it in the 82nd minute. Kilmarnock 1-0 Hibernian Jamie Hamill scored 10 minutes from time to give Killie an opening day win over Hibs. Aberdeen 0-2 Inverness Inverness CT got their first ever win over Aberdeen when Andrew Barrowman scored in the 27th, then McBain made it safe in the 90th.
i'm obviously biased but Falkirk were by far the better team. if they had a decent no.9 they'd have won the match. the Inverness result should keep the sheep quiet for a while.
from bbc: Celtic 1-0 St Mirren By Clive Lindsay Robson scored after Vennegoor of Hesselink won the penalty Celtic got their defence of the Scottish Premier League title off to a winning start thanks to a controversial Barry Robson penalty against St Mirren. that never happens to the old firm.

did accies put up a temporary stand on on one the sides? im watching the game and there isn't one behind the open goal end. thought their current capacity was less than 6,000?
Great result for Accies. Looking forward to seeing the highlights tonight. Ooh and I almost forgot, its on the all new superduper Sportscene on BBC1.
Only saw snippets of the match but Hamilton looked good. Should be fine on that form. I heard bookies were giving odds of 8/1 that Hamilton wouldn't win a single game this season.
