    Just a general discussion thread.

I know that lots of people on here collect different things, jerseys, games on tape, stickers, autographs, magazines etc.

So what do you collect, what do you have, and why do you collect it?

I collect jerseys of all 3 of my teams, United, USA & The Chicago Fire in that order, have about 100 total...since about 2002 i've become the jersey nazi, and i only collect the ones with Lextra, played sized players & Numbers. I've got about 60 United Jerseys, about 25 US and 15 Fire, also have a few random jerseys Boca Juniors Tevez, and Random United players country jerseys.

I've also got about 100 soccer related shot glasses, long term goal is to have a nice basement 'bar' type area, with a glass enclosed wall on 1 or 2 sides showing off all of my jerseys with a few TV's to watch the games.

Also goalie gloves of US Keepers, i've got signed gloves from Keller, Fridel, Guzan, Howard & Meola, also Zach Thornton who had a breif US MNT stint late 90's.

I also have a nice collection of match programs & ticket stubs i'm gonna either Glaze over or top off with glass for the bar.

Basically, I collect as much as I can regarding Norway's WNT. Ticket stubs, old programs, some stamped covers from when they won the OLY in 2000, media guides. But that only goes so far, since I may only collect 1, maybe 2 pieces of women's specific memorabilia a year, SO I also collect general Norwegian Football Federation stuff ... Odd and ends like that.

I also collect Norway shirts. Right now I have just 9, but I have a couple from the 80s I'd like to add to my collection soon. Which works out nicely, because the women's team (until 03) wore the same exact shirts as the men did.

And that's about it. I kind of like the challenge of trying to find things that are so rare and specific. Otherwise, I don't think it would be as fun.

I'm Italy national team fans. I collected more than 300 Italy national team jerseys from official replica, match issue, match worn and special jersey of Italy. My collection become huge because I try to collect all different version of official replica, because each different continent has official replica that supplied and manufactured by different manufactory, thus there are always some differences in specifications. For example, current version of official replica is manufactured in three different countries for both home and away - Romania, Paraguay and Thailand. I even heard rumours that Vietnam are producing them too.

Despite from that, I also collect Italy national team match DVD. Currently, I just get started so it probably take me some time to build up my collection.

    I collect a few things.

Copies of games (though I've only got about 100), general books on football and magazines.

The main magazine that I collect is World Soccer of which I've got the majority of issues now dating back to 1960.

I collect jerseys from DC and Manchester United, general soccer books, rare jerseys from some of my favorite players (i.e. Edgar Davids), autographs so long as they are legit.

Really like the idea of the bar in the basement.. Maybe in a few years I can jack that idea off yea!

I collect baseball cards, media guides and jerseys (football, soccer and hockey). My jersey collection is kind of small, I have only have 24-25 (including seven Newcastle United kits and five Phoenix Coyotes jerseys, two of my three favorite teams in all of sports). But I've probably got between 15,000-20,000 cards.

On something of a collection note, I'm also somewhat actively pursuing my goal of seeing every MLB and NHL team play. For MLB I'm only missing the Red Sox, Royals, Rays, White Sox and Marlins. For the NHL, the Lightning, Canadiens, Sabres, Capitals, Devils and Bruins.

I collect world cup mascots. I have the collection starting from 1986-2006. I believe my collection is completely worthless... but it means something to me and I like it.

I would love to collect soccer cards for the EPL, Serie A, and MLS but I don't know where to buy them. Any advice?

    Current or past ones?

Either way ebay is normally a pretty good starting point to see what's out there.

I collect soccer scarves from the countries i've been to or teams I've seen away from my home team. I also collect ticket stubs of all the games I've been too, I always like going back and seeing the stubs, it brings back great memories

Lately i've been debating on expanding the collecting to jerseys. I have a few jerseys now, but would like to expand on that. The New England Revolution are my favorite team so I think I might focus on them exclusively for now, maybe create man town in my house dedicated to them or just soccer in general with them being the main focus.

OK, I'll bite. I try to get my hands on just about everything from my three favourites: Columbus Crew, Chelsea FC, and the US. Usually replica shirts, but also programs, warmups, scarves, etc. I also have a fairly average sized collection of old NASL/ MISL media guides picked up in my youth.
My favorites, which will be listed in my will, are: a Budweiser Crew neon sign, "90 Years of The Blues" (personally autographed), "100 Years of The Blues" (released after the author, Ron Hockings, passed), autographed photos of Peter Osgood and Gianfranco Zola, and a photo of John Terry and myself.
Friends bring me shirts and scarves from all over the world, and those have personal meaning.

    Hi Brook,

I have fond memories of covering a game at the old Wembley Stadium in 1993.

I met a fellow journalist and historian who invited me to his house after the game. He was surprised by my "knowledge and zeel" (as an American) for the game of football. In any event, he gifted me two books on the history of Chelsea FC.

We spent a good 5 to 6 hours chatting (I actually missed the final bus back to my hotel and had to walk the streets of London at 3 AM). He was most gracious and kind.

My memory of that meeting is still very vivid. The journalist's name was Ron Hocking.
