The Virginia process requires many more paying plateholders (I think that number is 350) than Maryland's does. The team says its going to make a push to get Virginia plate eligibility - which admittedly is something it has said before in its prior attempts. I'm not sure there was ever a push for Maryland before JH6 and the SEs took it on, but United's staff is overworked as it is so I'm prepared for the possibility that they might not have the time to really push this. If so, we'll take it on ourselves and enlist the team to get the word out.
Maryland tags should be in by September 9th. I am collecting the applications for the first 50 people (you all should have an e-mail - if you don't or don't know if you were one of the first 50 shoot me an e-mail). It is important that I get the applications as quickly as possible so that as soon as the tags are in stock we can turn everything in and everybody gets their tags. After we complete the first 50, I will open it up to everyone else who is on my list or might not have e-mailed me yet. I will be at the SE tailgate for the NY game on the 30th and hopefully will be able to get most of the applications completed by then. Thanks
email returned. What kind of information is required on the app? anything that I won't immediately know, like license plate, drivers #, etc?
Ok, I'm in for two VA plates. I'm willing to help out in whatever way to start the push for these. Seeing this thread pop up once every few months really isn't going to get us to 350 people... Maybe at the "meet the team" events, and definitely at the SE/BB tailgates...
I should know better than to trust anything on the VA plates. I have been checking the website and haven't seen anything. I was told the webpage had been created and it was going live today - guess not.
Come on VAinas WTF!!! What do we need to do to get VA plates? I'm beyond jealous I am so hating MD right now but what the hell let get going VA!!! PS: The reason I'm pissed is that my dad told me about it and he's rubbing it in.
Great job Doug! You are truly a man of action! ps-Now we just have to find a man of action in VA (since Washington, Jefferson, Madison are not around anymore...)
Ok, if we believe the mother ship, applications for the VA plates are now being accepted....well, sort of: http://ww2.mlsnet.com/t103/fans/license_plates/va/ At least there is an *official* push behind this....now mosey along and get the word out to all bretheren in the Commonwealth.... (and then wait 'til June 2009 or later...)
Why is that lame? We didn't get any bonus at all in MD. Besides being ahead of Virginia (again) that is...
Well, Maryland is not making you pre-pay with knowledge that the tag may never come to fruition. The process is much different in Virginia and in order to entice 350 people to part with their money I told them they needed to build in some kind of incentive.
