http://www.soccer365.com/us_news/story_5808155418.php Short interview with Brugge's coach, who says that Jeffrey is 'right on the edge of the first team,' and that he trains with them every day.
A short blimp from his agent, you mean Could be far from the truth or spot on. But judging by the significant minutes he's received this pre-season I'm almost positive Kelly is spot on. I'm very interested in seeing how Jared pans out this season. He certainly has the tools, from all accounts, so I feel it's just putting his head down, working hard and he'll be rewarded.
Sorry but this is a common mistake... Having a defensive player "touch" the ball does not negate an offside. From the Laws of the Game: A player in an offside position is only penalized if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by: interfering with play or interfering with an opponent or gaining an advantage by being in that position I think it's safe to say that he was gaining an advantage by being in an offside position. Not sure if the goal counted or not (and looking at the AR at the top of the pic it seems he kept the flag down), but it shouldn't have.
I thought Sonck played for CB? Looks like he gets a touch and that may be what kept the scorer onside.
Forget whether the defender gets a touch. A touch is not possession/playing the ball. The offensive team only has to touch the ball, the defensive team would have to play the ball... different things. At the moment the ball is played from the wing... thats where you take the snapshot of the field to determine if the player is in an offside position. He appears to be. So from here on, that player(s) in an offside position will be penalized for being so if he does one of the 3 bulleted items above - unless the ball is first played by the opposing team (different from touching the ball - or having a deflection), or it is replayed or touched by a member of his own team who was in an onside position and who subsequently puts him onside.
Sorry, I thought Sonck was the first attacker for Club Brugge, I thought the ball hit him coming through and his touch kept the scorer onside, (NOT THE DEFENDER - defender has to control the ball, not touch it). Now, the AR could have said that the scorer was offside on the pass from Jeffrey, but not directly involved in the play (must have been blind or its a friendly, I'm not sharp).
Right. When the futhermost left player (the evential goal scorer) is offside, he is not in play. Sonck, the CB forward, (ex-of Ajax and M'gladbach) makes a run from the onside position and, when he touches the ball, he establishes the new offside/onside line. At that moment, Sonck's touch puts the furthermost left attacking player (the scorer) onside, as he is behind the center forward. Had there been no touch by Sonck, the scorer would have been offside since that's where he was when the original cross by Jeffrey took place.
Actually, I was thinking about the documentary of Dirk Diggler, with him gazing out at the picturesque LA River.
They need a few BK's, Wendy's and In&Out's in Belgium. Jeez, it was supposed to be a civilized nation.

Once you get used to the food industry over here, it's actually quite nice to have dinner in something else than a fastfood restaurant AND... if you find it difficult to adapt, there are also more than enough mcdonald's and quicks to go around.
Gauffres de Liege!!! I'm not super nuts about the Belgian beers or the shops where they will fry anything that has ever existed, but a fresh waffle is beyond fantastic.
