Madness! This bozo is tap dancing around his biggest single liability; he has less experience than anyone ever running for president! A freedom tour bolstered by the leftist media of Europe's capitals with press the flesh handshakes of foreign leaders does not foreign policy experience make... The loser couldn't even take it upon himself to visit our wounded Vets! I hope McCain rips this guy a new one in debates... I've seen newspaper delivery boys with more experience... he's a first term Senator that's done nothing for Illinois except stroke his own ego that arrives ten minutes before he does... The AFL-CIO should be embarrassed about such blatant patronage.... Madness...
It's unfortunate but responding to these claims may only reinforce these misconceptions.. Research has shown that if you already believe something and you read something that disputes what you previously believed, you're more likely to remember the latter as affirmation... Example... Let's say I believe McCain was abducted by aliens because my cousin told me so... now the mccain campaign sends me something saying "McCain was NOT abducted by aliens." Months later, I'll forget the contents of the e-mail but I'll remember reading something about McCain and aliens. So now, when someone asks me about it, I will say I believe McCain was abducted by aliens because i read it somewhere. Pity. Once those false notions get in your head, nearly impossible to get out. Ran into someone and the old "he won't say the pledge". Didn't waste my breath, that voter is long gone. The more appropriate response is to refute these claims WITHOUT making ANY reference to the claims... For example, you want to prove he's a christian just send out a mailer with him and a cross or something talking about faith. Introduces the facts without giving any credence to the "is he a christian?!?!" myth. And while I'm ranting. I was reading the washington times yesterday and glanced at a few letters to the editor. One (nearly half a page) was an anti-obama rant and included a line about obama being "raised by the likes of farakhan and william ayers." I mean, that's patently false. I know it's a letter to the editor and everything but don't newspapers still have to pick letters that don't present blatant lies? I've said it before and I'll say it again.. ******** the media.
Can someone tell me what this means? What deeds is he talking about here? Specifically? Is he saying the "U.S. government" owes reparations? I don't think so but if not that, what?
I found this on another site: He explained that Native Americans were doing worse than any other group by every measure, including high unemployment rates and living in "deplorable" housing conditions. "I'm more concerned about delivering a better life," Obama said. He said as far as reparations were concerned he was more interested in strategies to lift people up from the legacy of discrimination. Such strategies would include improving inner city schools, so students received a quality education. Obama also said that programs for health care and education for everyone in America would be among the best way to help disadvantaged individuals because such programs will disproportionally affect and benefit minorities because they are suffering most. http://prince.org/msg/105/277483 I'm surprised he's casting these programs in a racial/America's wrongs light. I think it's dumb because one person in poverty isn't more important than another and it will feed the worst kind of fears about his intentions once he's president.
what the ******** are you talking about? He was asked a god damn question about the government issuing a formal apology. You want him to ignore the question and the pertaining history because he's black and some people (maybe you included) think he's going to enslave the white race? He said he wants to provide good health care and education for everyone and you have a ********ing problem with that? What's wrong with you people.
I think his plan in general is to give back to impovereshed areas. His focus on race, and he specifically mentions Barrio's at times, as well as Native American and Afro-American neighborhoods, is that these are high areas of poverty. But he also said, on the issue of Affirmitive Action, that it should be focused more on Social Class then race. That a white kid who had no advantages(other then skin color, if you consider that one), should be considered in that light as opposed to an African American who did have advantages in Class.
Calm down...no need to ****. Though, it is kind of funny. McCain completly dodges a question and gets praise, Obama answers a tough question and gets ripped for bringing race into the campaign.
He said that welfare programs and the like were akin to reparations or a form of reparations because they disproportionally benefit those people wronged by America. That's very dangerous ground for a politician to walk.
Health Care and Education = welfare in your world? wow... P.S. (61% of welfare recipients are white... don't tell anyone, though, okay? We want everyone to believe that the only people that need welfare are those lazy blacks...)
White Americans aren't voting for Obama because of his views on Native Americans? That makes a lot of sense.
"Most" in Obama's quote means quantity, not quality. Obama isn't saying that minority suffering is more important than others' suffering. He's saying that MORE minorities are suffering.
Indians haven't been asking for reparations. We know we'll never get them. The Cobell V. US case is to force the government to start paying the money to the individual Indians and tribes that it's been collecting since the 1870's for lands held in trust by the government and leased out to all kinds of different users, without any benefit to the owners, the Indians. While the Canadian Indians just got an apology for the treatment they received when the Canadian government turned their assimilation over to the major churches in that country and a pittance for damages for survivors, you don't see any tribal leaders in the US asking for the same out of the BIA assimilation school system, though it was no where near as brutal as the Canadian system. As for poverty, the root cause of poverty for Indians has been the reservation system and various relocations without payment for lands ceded, including the seizure of allotment lands by state & federal governments, as well as generally being put out in places to live where economic development is impossible for the tribes or individuals to profit from or even make decent livings. And for all the talk about a national healthcare system, lets home they don't use the Indian Health Service as a model, because it sucks.
Just to be clear, when people say that Obama is planning to enslave the white race, do they mean he is also planning to enslave white latinos, or is it mostly those whites of anglo-saxon, germanic and other northern european origens?
They came for the whites of anglo-saxon, germanic and other northern european origins, and I said nothing.
Since ITN is on my ignore list I'm going to have to nominate this as one of the worst pieces of logic I've seen around here in a long while.
