My buddy went to Brazil a week ago to trial with some clubs, and he returned a professional soccer player. He was a freshman at Westmont last year. I believe he's a LB.

I give you more details when I can get the name of the team out of him.

That isn't his ethnic heritage. That is his nationality.

I think the guy's just curious. As am I. Because if he doesn't have Brazilian in his background or Portugal (even though it is still different to speak Portuguese from Portugal in Brasil...), wondering what the connection was to the club there.

That's also why I'm curious about where in Brasil he is and which club he's in.

You're missing the point..as someone already mentioned we would like to know his connection to the club.

I think Sandon already established that he's Native American.

Thanks. Gees... have no idea what the big-deal was...

Still wonder what the connection is to... whatever club it is... wherever it is. Seems random. Could be anywhere in Brasil, but since he is not Brazilian and... still don't know if there's nayone from there in his family, maybe it's one of the bigger states/cities (SP, RG, MG, or RS). Oh well. lol

Well, if that were the case, surely he would appear on TV endorsing obscure soccer equipment in commercials by now.

His dad is white. His mom is something Asian, maybe Hawaiian. You know, your run of the mill San Franciscan.

    Work Permit:

I want to see a link to a media source or team source referencing the professional contract. How the hell could he get work permit to a foriegn country, especially as a soccer player. Less likely in a country where the waiters and day laborers can play at near MLS level.

I talked to his mom Sunday at church. He hasn't even told her what team he's going to play for. He's being real hush hush until he gets his contract finalized. Apparently he was invited by the team to trial over there through his contacts. As always, It's who you know.

Any of the "youth experts" know if he's had any call-ups with the U-17s before, or the U-20s more recently?

Yup... until some sort of proof is presented. And no, a Wikipedia entry for Kyle is not proof.

You guys are jerks. What do I have to gain from lying to you?

:rolleyes:Oh I feel good about myself, I've created an amazingly elaborate rumor on the internet. All will soon hail TONE CAPONE as the second coming of Ives Galarcep:rolleyes:

And just so you know, I just checked my facebook, and he left a little message for me:
    The secret is out.
