We assume that our new defender, Dominguez, will make his debut today. I know we have some high expectations of him hopefully plugging some holes in our backline.

    Questions:

    1. Do you think he'll start today against Dallas?

    2. If so, how do you think he'll do today?

    3. Are you looking forward to seeing play?

Edit: I added one more question.

I think the technical term for this is, "damning with faint praise."

    Jorge,

He could play with both shoe laces tied and be better than Vanney, I liked X's game except for his DEFENDING and Roberts is a good back up. I hope I see a composed player with good positioning sense and speed. I hope Dominguez is the first piece to the puzzle for a strong second half of the season. Go G's.

I kind of want to see him take a couple free kicks. Beckham has lost his form in thse as of late, and from what I hear Dominguez is pretty good at freekicks. Then again so is Donovan...so who knows.

He will be indeed starting. I'm excited to see how he meshes with the team.

In all fairness it's gotta take a while to adjust to a new team and new league. Just as it wasn't fair to expect him to come in and be the solution in his first game, we shouldn't give up on him right away (although he is getting worked over pretty good)

I don't think he's ever had to cover anyone near the size of Kenny Cooper. But jeebus we look terrible.

Yes as a team we look bad right now, but Dominguez looks awful. He has no speed and looks lost; I'll forgive him for looking lost since, it's his debut, but man he's just as slow a X. He has had the better angle several times and FC Dallas players are still getting by him with ease. Man, we're frustrating to watch at times. There are moments where we look awesome and then there are moments like the first half tonight...

After todays performance I'm tagging him with this nickname "Doming-X"©2008

I know it's his 1st game and all but come on.

I think too many new players that come into MLS underestimate the talent that MLS has. Cooper schooled him today.

Domin-X was nutmegged, out muscled, outpaced, and he got a ball to the groin. Welcome to MLS indeed.

Hope this shapes him up real quick.

well his debut was today...i think he has good height..

I would have liked him to debut maybe with a goal off a corner kick but that did not happen.

His defense seemed to be okay...but cooper did play with him a lot...his speed seems to be okay.

That shot at the end was unlucky into his private parts...a nice reminder that it does not pay to lose...

good luck next time buddy...lets try to score some goals...and keep your mark tight

    Very very generous imho.

He looked slow, lazy and just unable to control the ball or his passing, which even when it worked was unintelligent. He needs to improve big time just for me to admit he's good enough to play in this league.

#25 Eduardo Dominguez Welcome to the Team!!

Today you had your hands full. I caught the nice save take-away second half.

I hope you can contribute and have a great career here in L.A.

Good luck , much is expected of you Right Now. I hope you are up for it. :)

you get a pass on this one, but 0-4 is pathetic...wouldnt you agree?

That was painful to watch. Dominguez was terrible, as were they all. Outplayed, outclassed. Has someone passed a new law preventing Becks from having a shot?

That was like watching 12 year old girls play......

I think the main issue is that our team does not seem aggressive enough. The defense, in particular, does not apply pressure. They don't close down, they often don't mark their man. Offense today was non-existant. Dunno what else to say. What happened to Donovan's fire? I haven't seen it in the last 5-6 games. Ever since that Crew game we should have won, we have gone from a team full of confidence to one that is either barely hanging on or straight up getting its ass kicked. When are we going to turn it around?

As for Doming-X, he made a bad first impression. I hope it's just being the new guy, cause he was pretty ineffective.

Are we sure that was really Dominguez? I could have sworn that was actually Xavier out there with his hair dyed dark brown and his skin lightened by Michael Jackson's Beverly Hills surgeon.

This is true and a telling sign that Dominguez is just plain garbage. Anyone that gets schooled by Cooper can not play in this league. Cooper has never impressed me and any competent defender can shut this guy down.

hmmm... is an important starter for decent clubs in both Argentina and Colombia but can't play in MLS? Seems unlikely.
