I was in 136 i didnt see anyone on the tuesday game. But I meant like u should start like a mini march in around the 14th minute of half time. The people who stayed outside will start getting pumped up hearing/see you guys march in and then it would be non stop singing from there.

On TV it sounded to me like one of the best atmospheres ever at an MLS game. Funny how some commentators gush about Toronto having a good atmosphere, they can't hold a candle to you guys.

Another oboe player in the Barra? Awesome!! I've been wanting to get back into playing for ages now. Maybe we can snag an English horn player and get a nice trio going. :D

Wow, guess you really do learn something new everyday.

I haven't played much since college, but I'm another oboe (and English Horn) playing Barra member :)

No wai!! Double reeds rule!! We can have the drum circle and a woodwind ensemble. Okay, maybe the woodwind ensemble can meet after the game...somewhere else...far, far away. :D

God, I hope we haven't given up trying to do it right, because it straight up sucks the way we're doing it. Really, we sound like a bunch of kids who took too much ritalin and now can't stop just singing the same two phrases over and over again in some random sort of order.

Just keep fighting the good fight, man. Someday, somehow, we'll get it right. :D

There was a family sitting in the front row of 138. Nice people I'm sure, but there you have it.

It was a sparse crowd, though--had the Barra been packed like it has been for most league games lately, I very much doubt they would have set up camp there, so it really wasn't worth making an issue of.

If you are refering to the Sat. game against Houston... yeah there was a group of people sitting in the front of 137. They were asked to stand up and participate and rather rudely said no to anyone around them who did ask.

The older kid actually did stand up and try and participate but was pulled down by his father from what I could see. Definately disheartening to those nearby

Before we get too negative though they are friends of or relatives of Oscar's. (I think)

137 used to be the families of players and other guests would go.... A couple of years ago it was almost a sitting section when the Barra was pretty much 135 and 136 with 137 as overflow.

My suggestion is send a polite note to Oscar if you have any concerns.

Remember the Barra is one big family and we need to treat each situation with the proper respect in order to grow.

Do we want 100% total all out participation every game? Sure. Are we going to get it? Nope, not a chance. It's one thing to ask people to get up and sing, it's a completely different matter to get in someone's face about it. Let's keep it real people...

Yeah, it was 137 not 138.

I'm not getting in anyone's face about something like this. People are either going to go along or not. Hell, there were quite a few Houston fans in 138--what are you going to do?

And as I said, I suspect that they wouldn't have set up camp there if it had been more crowded. And if not, well, like Chico says--keep some perspective.

Section 137 is a section in transistion from partially sitting to fully standing.

If the Barra shows in force (why it ain't happenin' every match is a mystery to me), it becomes a standing Barra section. Right now, I encourage the Barra families (with kids) to sit (stand) in the first two rows over on the 138 side.

I have also noted some older folks SITTING in 137 on the aisle by 138. They have been fairly regular, but they also SING! CHANT! CURSE! I ain't gonna ask 'em to stand. I want their voices!
