Tough to say, since they really play different positions. McBride is a better clutch player, and plays with more balls. He's better in the air, while Donovan is better on the ground, and has better speed, and is a better passer.
I always thought both were cocky and overrrated. But I think Landyboy is more annoying as a person, although his style of soccer is more impressive. Actually, in terms of pure skills, notably dribbling, Freddy Adu (so far) looks more like a standout among our paltry pool of good domestic players (not including goalkeepers). But he is a whiny, self-centered, little pissant (that's french). And I'm predicting his career tanks and he winds up playing in the USL, screaming and holding up his arms in the air everytime he was open and didn't get a pass. Either that or he suffers an OJ, Kobe, or Marion Berry kind of scandal, getting caught smoking crack in a hotel room, and winds up in the pages of infamy forever.

Are you trying to ask "Who is better?" There are only two people that you are asking us to pick from. Do you mean between the two of them? Or are you saying that one of them is the "Best American of All Time" and that you want to know which one we think? Between the two, right now I would want Brian McBride for my club. In 7 years, I would want Landon for my club.
Yea, really. McBride is one of the most humble guys in sports. Very, very down to earth. I'd take McBride anyday. He's tough as nails and never stops working.
I'll take McBride if the US is playing anyone other than Mexico...and I'll take Landon if we are playing Mexico.
