Where can I get one? Or is that DCU bandanas people are wearing at matches? They come in handy during smoke bombs...
The bandanas are generic black. There are white DC United head bands some guy sells at the tailgates. He's not there every game but shows up from time to time.
For those of us who are uncool and behind the times, what is the difference between a "buff" and a "bandana"?
I found this on ebay... http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=32&fsoo=2&fgtp=
I like the Keffiyeh like Owen uses since we represent such a diverse community. I have a red one and a black one.
Hey, just remember who started the skull mask bandana. I'll be there today if you want to stand next to me.
The store Hot Topic carries skull and crossbone bandanas in red , black and white backgrounds. I bought a few today and hand washed the hell out them. The red and black ones bleed. $3.99 each. They are a tad on the small size. I also found a store online that sells skull and crossbone material by the yard or bolt. I'm looking to get some of and make some "drive on rags". Ask anyone who has been in the Army about that. Pops
http://www.buffwear.com/ they are a tubular piece of cloth that is uv proof and stretchy they can be worn in something like 14 different ways from head band to scarf to neck gator-how i wear them when fishing to keep neck protected headband during games/under my hat and then neck gator when smoke comes out ebay has a ton of them this is the one i have
Buffwear offers customized buffs, minimum order of 300. Might be a decent fundraiser for La Barra. Since we don't yet have a custom one yet, I ordered this:
since srdan is busy ill take a crack at designing one.. just so we can have a general idea... ill have it up 2maro.
I had one designed for over a year but nowhere to make it so that it's competitive with 99 cent bandanas from dollar stores. Also it's hard to find a printer that can do more than square foot print and bandanas are 20+ inches. Hmm I thought I had picture somewhere online :/
i don't think i can justify a 3rd buff but a barra logo one would be tits though they are so worth it. can't believe i worked at hudson trail outfitters for 3 years and never got one. the wife wears her red bandanna pattern one all the time. they are so versatile-stretchy, uv proof, sweat absorb, worn as tube top by the spinners, etc. a barra one would be well worth it.
where do you get a keffiyeh? ive been bugging my muslim friends and they appearantly have no clue. they always just tell me that they get them back home and bring them here...
I've got a tattered red and white one that I got from an insurgents house in Iraq that we raided. Just go to Iraq, they have them all over the place!
Not to be overly sensitive, but what is the protocol, for lack of a better term, for wearing a Keffiyeh? I remember reading in a Middle East orientation brief that the different colors identify men from a kingdom v. a democracy and whether or not they've done hajj. Is it kosher for a non-Muslim or native to wear one or do people not really care?
The Keffiyeh is actually not just a Muslim piece of religious clothing. It is actually considered an Arabic garment. Many mix up Arab and Muslim mainly because the vast majority of Arabs are Muslim. A person that is considered Arab simply means that they are from the Middle East region but not necessarily Muslim. There is no restriction on a Non-Muslim wearing a Keffiyeh. In fact, in Australia, Japan, parts of Europe, and the US it was a thing of fassion at some point. Many different Arab and Western military forces have adopted it as a part of their uniform in arid climates. I can be seen worn by US and British Special Forces as well as the Australian Army. The thing that could stir up some controversy some where, especially in the states, is that because of world events over the past few decades it has come to be associated with terrorism. Different patterns and colors do mean certain things. Palastine has a certain white with black stitching pattern that they like to wear while in other places a plain white Keffiyeh is preferred. The Keffiyeh is probably one of the best pieces of head gear I have worn when it comes to protecting my head from direct sun exposure. Because it is so light it keeps the sun off your head and allows for air flow. It also works wonders when used to cover the mouth from dust, sand, and smoke.
