?? I thought that he was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks? Mid-August to beginning of Sept?

I read somewhere that the ligaments in Ronaldo's right ankle had become unstuck (I guess from the bone). Something like that anyway....

Well I don't expect him to miss that much of the season tbh. He should probably miss only a handful of games.

I wasn't saying he would miss half the season. Just that he would miss matches in the first half of the season. A first half of the season with a very tough schedule.

I realize that you weren't saying he would miss half the season, but a few games shouldn't hurt us. I think matches against tough opposition are just what we need to get us playing our best football asap.

Nani will miss the first 3 due to suspension and Anderson may not be ready when he returns from the Olympics so it may be a dicey opening few weeks without CR too....

Whatever happens, this might be the perfect oportunity to try out a 'Christmas Tree' style formation.

You know what, you could be right. People argue that this won't work due to no width because of no nani/giggs/ronaldo. But evra is more than capable of dominating the left wing and hargreaves and neville ad lots of width down the right.

Neville would be dead on his feet before the half. That's a very demanding formation for a fullback, any fullback, much less one who hasn't played in a year. Simpson would be your best bet in that formation and we'd still get pwned.

So what he really dreams of...is kicking Sergio Ramos' ass in Madrid, and taking up the right-back position there...ambitious..and rather crazy if he's trying to impress this chick

    I'm fuming at this guy...

What has this got to do with him? He doesnt know jack shit about this transfer "saga". I'm guessing united and madrid have been maling him with latest up to date news on Ronaldo's situation? No? So, Ronaldo's personaly told him that he will be unsettled at united? Nope. He's just going of newspaper articles. What an idiot.

Oh and i think blatter needs to look up the term slave in a dictionary or something. Ronaldo signed a contract. He gets paid houndreds of thousand of pounds. Slaves dont sign contracts. Slaves dont get paid.

    Prat.

And now we know the subject of nightly pillow talk between him and Platini.

If I'm not mistaken, Platini carries a purse, so I guess we know who's who in that relationship. :)

Hugely irresponsible of him to say what he's said. Club issues like this have nothing to do with him. Does he not understand that contracts are mutual agreements freely entered into by both parties and legally binding? Ronaldo is one year into a £125,000 a week 4 year contract. This is nothing to do with slavery, and nothing like slavery. This is a basic principle of ethical rights. He has been looked after, paid well, and adored by millions of fans, the world over. And now he wants to break that contract.

The idea that a mans word is as good as his bond is clearly lost on this stupid little man.

    He should **** off

I'm absolutely disgusted by Blatter. If Ronaldo was wondering whether to keep pushing for a move, or just accept that he's at United until we want to sell, then Blatter has just encouraged him to keep pushing.

I now expect Ronaldo to publicly state in a press conference that he demands to leave as per the wishes of FIFA itself. This will happen in thenext couple of days. I have no doubt about it.

Sepp Blatter and Platini have been on an 'Anti England Club' trip for years now, especially United and the national Team. The first time it directly affected us was when Rio was banned and appealed to FIFA who upheld the unjust term of his ban. In addition did you see the face of Platini when he was handing over the winners medals in the Champions League Final, his face did not crack a smile once, only when Evra went and got his medals did his face manage a sneer.

As English Club football dominates Europe and the world, Sepp Blatter will do anything to weaken the top 4 sides and share the spoils across Europe. I hope that when we aggressively approach Huntelaar, Benzema, Ramos, Arshavin etc... that the tapping up rule rears its ugly head again. One rule for Europe, one for English clubs.

They will not stop this crusade until English clubs loosen their grip on the Champions League and the likes of Real, AC and Barca start winning again
