I don't know about you guys but it kills me to know that we have to shut down parts of the stadium when Dominguez Hills is in session. Stupid, idiotic and moronic deal. :(

That is just for games that are scheduled with less than 30 days notice when the school is in session...

Since this was posted in April of '04 has the HDC looked more like the home of the LA Galaxy or just like a stadium they play in? With Becks if anything they had to sure add that "Galaxy" feel to their home. What about Chivas USA don't they have a section in the stadium that is themed to them?

HDC is adorned with huge canvas banners on showing various LAG players. These are hung in the concourse area. Do not know if they come down when Chivas has a home match, but on entry to the stadium for one of the LAG games there is no question whose home it is. Unfortunately, since these are on the concourse, they do not show on TV or inside the stadium.

What we need is a giant LA Galaxy crest made out of navy blue, white, and yellow chalk that covers the entire center circle and is at least 30 yards long. Then, in the right hand channels approaching each goal, we need a green chalk Cozmo head. You know, make it look like an NBA court or NFL field.

Obviously I'm being facetious. Really, it's pretty tough to make a soccer pitch look particularly "home" to a certain team for the TV audience. The field must remain unadorned. You can put some stuff up on the rafters that show the name of the team, or along the dasher boards around the field.

For instance, take a look at this clip from Anfield (a place that unquestionably has a strong "home field" feel to it): http://youtube.com/watch?v=CiYtxAoC99I&feature=related

You can't tell where the game is being played just from looking around from the main TV shot. There is one camera close-up of Rafa Benitez that shows a Liverpool logo low on the wall behind him. But that isn't going to show up from a wide-angle shot. The only way you can tell is by the crowd itself. And I think between LARS, ACB, Galaxians, etc., the LA crowd does a pretty good job at getting the point across.

I think we could do worse than put in white, blue and gold seats, with a touchline side which spells out LA Galaxy or something.

Anybody can make a banner and hang it up, especially on the eastern side of the stadium (TV side). I know ACB was talking a month or two ago about making some simple LA Galaxy banners, or just team colored banners to hang along that wall. As of now that lawn colored green is kind of lame, we really should color it up.

Can anyone take pictures of the HDC tomorrow night, you of the outside/inside of the stadium. Whenever the Galaxy play you never really get many shots of the stadium.

Actually, its easy to tell who the home team is.

Look at a picture of a soccer match at HDC. If its an LAG game, there are fans there. If Chivas, not so much.

Does anyone still have the photo of the two police officers stood next to the LARS section, with the sign warning that the fans in LARS stand up and sing etc? I need it because some of my mates refuse to believe such an area of a football ground actually exists
