Mexico steps up and gets someone out of thier box and we get a bench coach from the bottom of our barrel. We need a manager who isnt rtying things, but already knows what he wants.

The Toulose U21 tourney and these past two games for the mens team shows me we are stuck in the mud with no direction.

No discernable style. If we stick with Bradley we may struggle through qualifying. But worst of all we will look like boys against men whenever we play European teams.

Suni and his exp. Bradley both need to go before its too late

I suppose we could ask the Celtics about a mismatch in coaches at this moment in time, just guess which national side has Doc Rivers at the helm.

IMO, La Volpe was a better coach and I doubt anything good will come of this for Mexico, it's still a group of overrated players that don't play well as a team and are led by a corrupt federation. They still suck, just because they make 20 passes before they cross the ball to no-one or overdo steps overs don't mean sh*t, and they can only do it vs MLS hacks. Think of where we will be in ten years compare to Mexico, do you think they're gonna have better players than us when MLS starts going at full capacity? Mexican government will have to relax citizenship rules that's for sure.

I do agree we have to get rid of Bradley ASAP.

Mexico's youth team has been quite impressive. I doubt they'll be continuing to suck like they have been in the past 2 years. Secondly....I highly doubt the MLS will be taking off in the next 10 years. Mb the next 25-50, but seriously....the sport can't even crack into mainstream networks to show a big game.

ESPN still puts Mike and Mike In the Morning shows on ESPN and ESPN 2 over big time international games. They only show the world cup to boost ratings from foreigners and to get picked up overseas.

Mb the U.S. will be light years ahead of Mexico down the road, but until we have a culture that supports the soccer lifestyle they and everyone else has....we don't stand a chance at major growth.

Yeah I am not sure what will come of Sven there, he is a great Club coach but I hated him at England. What my feeling is here is that we are going backwards IMHO.

And our rival is either grabbing at straws or thinking ahead? Is this desperation on thier parts? Or will it prove to be a change for them that could see them make several leaps ahead?

Wasnt La Volpe an Argentine ? No? That is a big sticking point I hear within the Mexican league, all the Argentines playing there...

Anyway Bradley was not my choice and I think we are done..

Sven vs. Bob... The man who couldn't figure out how to get Gerrard and Lampard to play together vs. the man who couldn't figure out that he needed to play Freddy Adu over Josh Wolff.

    I'm so excited for this.

I'm no big fan of Mexico, but they're doing the right things for their long-term development, such as playing in Copa America with their full squad, and paying CONMEBOL to have their teams participate in Copa Libertadores.

It begs the question of where the national team would be today had they been playing the Copa America all along, instead of flabbergastingly declining the invitation years ago, and getting an invitation again only to send a B team.

Mexico, despite runs of poor form, does manage to qualify to the latter stages of pretty much every tournament, including the WC and Copa America, and their clubs do very well in the Libertadores.

It says something about their aspirations that they mercilessly fired as coach their most famous, legendary player in history, and have gone overseas to acquire a top European coach. It means they're serious about getting to the top level, not just hoping.

Sven either looked concerned for Mexico and his task at hand, or, he was absolutely dumbfounded on how, if ever, he'll be able to neutralize a team like Argentina.

I am happy for this and I hope Eriksson does well with Mexico. It will only raise the profile of football in our region and put pressure on our Federation to perhaps find a world class coach who understands how to get the most out of our players against world class opposition.

I agree with everything you say but how is it that Mexico can have all their full squad in Copa and we can't? I was under the impression that Euro teams don't have to let their players play in Copa as both US and Mex. are CONCACAF, plus Copa is closer to the start of most Euro leagues.

Do you guys think we can ask the Mexican Federation to fill in as interim managers of USSF while we fire our current regime?

Right now, it seems as though we have every excuse in the book for falling apart in 2.5 years.

I distinctly remember an inexperienced coach being named "interim coach" to my dismay, and then remember the Jurgen debacle, and somehow this "interim" kept the job.

Can we place him back on "interim" status while we negotiate with real coaches?

He was overheard saying to Justino Compean, "Is this the real defense or is Chucho using some kids from his U-17 team?"

Sven has fine taste in women.

When you're making $5M-$10M/Y, you can afford to be discerning.

Fat Frank and Gerrard have never played together properly.. McClaren failed, the Italian (can't spell his name..) hasn't even bothered... Fact of the matter is with someone like Barry or Carrick behind Gerrard to suck up the grunt work, Gerrard players 10x better then Fatty could hope for... Back to the US!

Sven is a good coach, he blew it at England but so have most coaches since the great Sir Alf Ramsey (RIP). Going to Mexico is a REALLY strange move which I think he'll struggle with. He'll make Mexico better but not sure the players will except him...

Comparing him and Bradley- we're doomed. We have the better team but Senior Bradley is miles and light years behind Sven in tactics and ability to manage a squad. When we're tied with 10 minutes to go, I have confidence Sven will make the right changes to see his team win, Bradley on the other hand I have no confidence what so ever in coming up with a way to win..

The US manager position has to be a coveted one abroad. We have money to pay, our players are quickly becoming very good, our youth squads have shown they can compete with other youth squads all around the world (Toulon was not our youth squad and I'm ashamed we brought children while everyone else brought experienced players, just another cowardly act by this US admin), the MLS is growing daily, I'd say in all the years this is the most exciting to be a US supporter.

We have the resources to sign someone of a higher class, why have Bradley?
