You included a slew of players that haven't played well enough to deserve a shot at the national team:

    Tom Almadon
    Yossi Shekel

Both excellent prospects, but are not ready to lead the national team in net.

    Dani Bondarv
He proved this season how inexperience can have your whole team falter.
    Shmuel Kozokin
    Tomer Ben Yosef
    Shai Maimon

    Haven't played enough.
    Oded Elkayam
Playing in the Liga Leumit exceptionally doesn't cut it anymore.
    Itzhak Azuz
    Ze'ev Haimovich

Both only picked up their game at the end of the season. Let's wait and see how they start next season

    Shiran Yeini
Kid is weak and will be pushed off the ball against physical national teams.
    Maor Melikson
He is in the middle of a major transition period in his career. Not good for the national team.

    Shlomi Arbeitman
    Omer Peretz

Both are extremely inconsistent in their playing. Rather have Toto Tammuz who even after sitting on the bench, packs more punch than these two.

Players you left out that I think deserve a call up:
    Toto Tammuz
    Almog Cohen
    Yehiel Tzagai
    Khaled Halaileh

Yaniv Katan should not be in the line up. I like the kid, but he's aweful player these days. He cannot contribute much at all.

I'm sure Gil Vermuth will be on the team , at least for learning purposes, same goes for assulin.

    Toto should be on there,

Kashtan is a good manager, he understands how to play these kids. We need to bring players who can match our opponents streagnths and weaknesses. Swiss will be the breaker for us. We need to find a way through them.

Omri Canada (Hapoel TA) will probably be first team player as he's the best right defender as of now.

You are all forgetting Rudy Haddad. He is a tremendous talent, and if he can get the spark back, he could be a great addition to the national team.

I think you're right on both counts RCT, otherwise megrelashvili would be a regular starter for the NT. Him and ziv are by far the best left and right backs we have.

What do you think our line up will be in 4 years when Israel will be trying to qualify for the 2014 WC? I think it will be much stronger than today, with a lot more offensive fire-power and less concentration on Benayoun by the opposing team. Goaltending will continue to stink though.

But all in all, I am really looking forward to 4-5 years from now when the team should be the strongest ever in Israel's existence.

This is my prediction for the line up

    STARTERS/FIRST TEAM (3-5-2 line up)

    Strikers: Sahar, Colautti

    Offensive midfielders: Assulin, Benayoun, Buzaglo

    Defensive midfielders: Alberman, Rafaelov

    Defense: Keinan, Ben-Haim, Roash

    BENCH/SECOND TEAM

    Strikers: Golan, Toto, Ben-Shushan, Barda

    Midfielders: Tamir Cohen, Kiyal, Baruchyan

    Defense: Saban, Ben-Dayan, Kozokin

Well, Colautti is gonna be 29 or 30 by the time the qualifiers roll around after these ones, and Benayoun will be like 33 or 34? Some of the players that are in the squad right now, really dont belong there, like Cohen and Kiyal. And hopefully the coach will be different too, I cant stand Kashtan.

Yea i think if calautti isnt starting now, why would he start when he is going to be 30-32, which is like at the end of a soccer players prime (except for Paolo Maldini of course). It will be same as benayoun, and most likely he will be a shadow of his current self. also who knows if some other player can come out of no where and become a star, while a guy like assulin can be over hyped and end up like freddy adu (who is still good but had way too many expectations for him to be the next ronaldo and such). Its probobly a little too early to look that far ahead, maybe to the Euro 2012. If u really wanna go in depth, how about israels squad for the 2022 world cup qualifyers.

Well Colautti is a top quality striker. Unfortunately for him hes in a bad situation at Mochengladbach. He doesnt play, and if he does, its off the bench for a few minutes.

He deserves better. Unless it changes, he should demand to leave ASAP.

It should change. The new manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach might be the former manager of 1. FC Nuremberg. He wanted to sign Colautti ages ago and you would think that he still likes him and will give him a shot as he has to shake things up there. His name though escapes me.

But you never know, Christian Ziege might throw Colautti into the mix too.

Another player to keep on the radar is Samuel Scheimann. He plays in the second Dutch division for Den Bosch, and has scored two goals this season. He came through the Feyernood youth system, and is 21 years old now. He plays as a midfielder/striker according to Wikipedia, and a few weeks ago, Sport 5 said Dror Kashtan and the coaching team were keeping close tabs on him.

guys what do u think about calling Lucas Licht to our NT, he's jewish, like 27 yrs old and hasn't played for Argentina so i think we wont any problems with Fifa...he's a left back and that position haves been giving us headache for some time now..i think we should call him..! for the guys living in Israel i think u should send some letters telling about this to the IFA, we need to call some jewish players from other countries if necesary to have a better team and make it to the WC..!!
