I'm sorry, but Cronin has shown that he's not ready to lead the Galaxy's defense. Speaking of, yes there have been some holes, but Cronin has not been consistent. He's made some fabulous saves, but also let in some WEAK goals. I just moved from L.A to Texas (I so miss Cali!), the Dallas fans say the same thing. If the Galaxy has a 'good' keeper they would be best in the West....

Actually, i think he is improving by the game, his confidence is growing and you and the Dallas fans are talking a load of bollox, i will go with the dutchmans opinion at the moment.

Uh, no. If the Galaxy had a good defense, they'd be first.

I'll reiterate what I've said before. Cronin has let in some goals that he COULD have saved. But he hasn't let in any goals that he SHOULD have saved. Big difference.

We have a lot of other positions that need to be shored up before we look for another keeper...

Keeper is not our problem. The one thing Cronin has been is consistent. You could put Howard or Guzan or even Kahn in the nets and with our defense they would not look good either.

I agree with a lot of what is being said, but I just don't see his leadership skills. He's not commanding the back as he should be. I guess I don't understand why they let Cannon go. He kept us in so many games last year, even some of those high scoring weird wins, he was taking a barrage of shots. The Galaxy has done a great job hanging in there with their swiss cheese defense, but we need Cronin to take charge. If someone is not doing their job he needs to let him/them have it!!

we've played 10 games so far this season. in both the kansas city and dallas games cronin made incredible "game changing/saving" plays to keep us in the match.

as for cannon, have you seen any san jose games this season? wouldn't want him anywhere near our team: old, expensive and getting worse. compared to croning: young, cheap and getting better.

Forgive me, I'm not saying Cronin is a bad keeper because you're right. However, he's all done the same on the other side of the spectrum, and when those easy goals went in moral dropped quickly. Too bad we can't get our hands on Chris Seitz.....

A - Agree with EdLoverr in general terms: Cronin needs to be stronger and more commanding with the defense.

B - Disagree specifically: As TrickHog said, We need a better defense before we start focusing on the keeper spot.

    C - I'm still hoping Wicks gets a shot.

D - Cannon did well for us. But at the moment, he's as relevant as Babayaro.

E - Now EdLoverr: Do that Dance!

Cronin isn't great (yet) but he hasn't really cost us points this year with the exception of the Toronto home game.

Other then that he's been ok. Not spectacular, just ok. Definitly at or slightly ahead of pre-season expectations.

otoh, let's talk about Troy Roberts, Greg Vanney and X...

I like the way cronin has been playing lately. I also see that hes not a complete keeper yet. But i would love to see what wicks can do, i mean he cant do any worst with out defense lol

We have to give CRONIN time - He is probably the best young GK to come through the US Youth sides in awhile .. .. Just like other sports, GK is one of those positions which takes the longest to settle in .. .. PATIENCE!

Once OSMAN CHAVEZ reports to LA, combines with FRANKLIN and settles in with MCDONALD & PIRES, we'll be fine .. ..

The second-half of the season, we could have one of the better defences in the league!!

Cronin is getting MUCH more confidence and playing better. If the D was clicking like the rest of the team, there wouldn't be a thread about this.

    Mistake 1: "Re: Galaxy needs a Keeper...BAD!!!"
    Correction: Use "badly"
Mistake 2: "the Dallas fans say the same thing. If the Galaxy has a 'good' keeper they would be best in the West..."
Correction: Don't listen to what Dallas fans say.
Next they'll probably tell you Daria Sala time wasting in the 20th minute or sucker punching someone in a melee after a game is just being competitive.

I agree with this, because I agree on Cronin and Franklin showing great potential and improvement, but also because I think McDonald and Pires still have a lot of room to improve as far as doing their job and protecting and helping the backline for 90 minutes. It seems of late we've had a run of goals that were a result of midfielders' mistakes. I trust in Ruud to get this sorted out.

Sir,I can't believe that you're saying this.Have you been watching the games?

Cronin is a good goalie,he is young, quick and he plays bravely by challenging
    the shooters.

Dallas fans didn't know what they're talking about I think they have too much
    grits.......
