It's good to see the US finally getting these kids. I've been very high on Flores since I watched him win the sueño mls contest last year. While I think the US and Mexico are pretty much dead even I feel that skillful players like Flores will have more opportunities with the US because Mexican players are generally more skillful than American players. Indios de Ciudad Juarez standout Marco Vidal has also decided to play for the US. We also have Micheal Ozroco too. It's a very good development for US soccer.

I dont know about Spanish clubs but Efrain flores, coach of Chivas said he liked the way he played. So you never know, he might just play for Guad one of these days.

I don't care what club he plays for, as long as he plays for the US Nats.

    Wishful thinking, I know.

He's angling towards being a key player for our U-20's.

During the U-20 tour of England the ESPN guy who reported said that he was our best player.

Which makes him at least one of our better players, add to the fact that he is now getting playing time in MLS he will grow even more. His coach is a famed great US midfielder which can only help, and he's playing on the left with USMNT left back Johnny B and Ante Razov.

I think he'll be key for us come WYC qualie and tourney time.

On the Chivas Guad note: I just can't see Chivas Guad allowing a guy who played in a WYC for us to play for them.

Hopefully Flores sticks with his USMNT choice.

I highly doubt it considering he's played for the US. Jesus Padilla was told that if he accepted a US call up it would effectively end his career at Chivas.

I said this in another thread, but he reminds me of a poor man's Leo Messi, which isn't a slight in the least. He's got speed, creativity, hustle, and lots of guile. Watching him develop over the coming year(s) will be a lot of fun.

I expect him to continue to play on the left flank, pushing Panchito back a ways, as long as Johnny B is out.

I thought the exact same thing! Hopefully JF doesn't get the bullseye on his ankles that LM has, at least not for awhile.

I can see the comparison to a degree. He's not nearly as physical as Messi, but is much taller. Messi just seems to blow by people with his speed and low center of gravity. Jorge uses more ball skills it seems. In any event, a poor-man's Messi is better than a rich man's most players.

Jorge strikes me as a more offensive Demarcus Beasley-type. Maybe not quite as fast, but with more ball skills. Hopefully in a few years we'll be comparing up and comers to Sueno rather than comparing him to established players.

yeah i agree JF is kicking arsh. I'm glad Preki is giving him a chance. I love to watch this kids face when he scores a goal, it's true Futbol at it's best. Not an overpaid attitude filled jerk who's only in it for the money. This kid i'm sure is still getting paid peanuts but when he plays well or scores goals thats his own paymnet and it shows. I don't quite know if comparing him to Messi yet is appropriate but i see where your going. I don't want him to have too much pressure to live up to our were setting him up for failure. Johnny B is an outstanding player that now has a lot to live up to because of his freshman performance. I still think Johnny is one of our best players but we did put a lot of pressure on him. Man our team is starting to pull things together with youth (just like chivas de Gua). what do you know. Let's keep starting JF but still try for Raon and Bofo if we can. We'll tell the MLS they'r getting paid one million each in pesos then it will be fair and we won't need a DP.Or lets take up a collection at the next game like the collection basket at church and we'l buy our own player. Sorry went off on a tangent.Keep up the hard work Jorge.

I was comparing him to Messi in playing style only. Obviously he doesn't come close to sniffing Messi's jock in terms of talent (yet, anyway) - Messi is probably among the top 15-20 players in the world.

El Sueño plays with a lot of flair and creativity and I like him along the flank, as he tracks back pretty well and seems to have endless energy. Seems to have a nose for goal as well, which is something we can always use. Playing with Jorge and Braun on opposite flanks works well, as they're good foils for one another.

The best thing about Jorge is that he provides us with real, quality depth. Razov and Galindo are still our #1 strike partnership, but at least we can spell them a bit and get a spark off the bench, if need be.

Sniffing his jock? that's classic brutha. I see your point. and i agree about the depth. Flores is proving to be a force to be reckoned with as a starter and definitely off the bench. He juked Colorados Japaneese dude on his Japan-Knees a couple of times there. He was out hustling everyone and winning alot of those 50-50 balls. This season is gonna be interesting and exciting when all our players get healthy. These kids should get a lot of credit because they are playing well enough to allow those injured to properly heal. Sniffing Messi's jock in terms of talent...I just can't get over that.

Jorge scored again tonight on a well taken volley from a cross he caught on his chest. This kid has shown good composure for a rookie has some good technical skill, something that is sorely lacking with US teams. I think we're seeing the makings of a player who could one day play for the senior nats and in Europe. Okay, I think I'll go watch Goal! now. :D

A great one timer. That type of aggressiveness is what is lacking for the USMNT forwards at the moment.

question is, will he play for the USA or Mexico? He was captain of our U-20's during the England trip so I guess thats a good thing... but he can still turn on a dime and play for Mexico as long as he remains uncapped by our senior team. I also heard on the spanish broadcast that a bunch of mexican clubs were looking at him, and I think if he goes to mexico and does well he will be a lost cause for us.

Look for him to get capped when the US has a friendly in the states or SO Cal. He may come in as a late sub just to make it official. Will he accpet the invite, thats another question, but I doubt he would turn it down.

Funny watching him last night compared to previous weeks and months he certainly has a bit of a swagger now when hes walking around HDC

I think Flores is a player that really represents an idea of chivas USA a mexican-american player, I think chivas fans need an idol to follow and Flores can be that player. that's my opinion

Jorge Flores does it again! Jorge was most impressive against the Crew last saturday and as far Jorge going to play for el tri; don't count on that ever happening because the US has a nact for picking up talent when they see it. I want to see if Jorge Flores will be scouted by a euroupion club like Freddy Adu, Jozy Altidore, Eddie Johnson, and Brad Guzan. Hey you never know Jorge could be play for Barcalona FC in the mere futher.;)

Just like when they picked up Edgar Castillo? I wouldnt say theres no chance Flores might play for El Tri, afterall he is Mexican also.

The biggest difference is that Sueno is already playing with the under 20s and his talent has been recognized by the USMNT. Edgar, on the other hand, was given a small chance, but then ignored at around the age of 14. He went to play in Mexico and has played with the under 23s for Mexico. Because of how he was ignored by the the US, he has said he will not play for the US. Completely different experiences for both players.

Even though they are different experiences for both players, I think that if MNT called him up, he would go in a heartbeat. That is one main reason why the USNT needs to get on it or they WILL lose him.:D
