From http://www.arsenal.com/squad.asp?thisNav=First+Team, Lukasz Fabianski, who will likely be the backup goalkeeper, has the number 21. He probably will keep it.

Possibilities are 16, 18, 19 (assuming Gilberto leaves), or 13 if Hleb leaves. Clichy (22), Adebayor (25) and Walcott (32) may get lower numbers as well.

I used to watch Arsenal a few years ago to see Henry. Guess I have a reason to be a fan again.

With Lehmann leaving(its official no?), that would vacate the 1 which will most likely go to Almunia, which would make 24 available.

Eduardo said he could be back by the beginning of the season after initial reports had him out till January '09.

Its good to hear a player is recovering well after such a horrendous injury, and I can't help but feel a bit bad for saying this, but it will take minutes away from Vela as he now has another striker ahead of him.

There's a difference between coming back to injury and coming back to form. It'll take him a while to get used to the speed of the game after such a long layoff.

    Yeah.

I actually posted something similar before, where Eduardo and the docs where optimistic and hoping he'd be back at the beginning of the season. But it's still not enough for him to play at the original level.

Look at Cisse. He also made a quick and good recovery and was back for a few minutes for the Champions League final in Istanbul. Looked rusty and scared as hell. He started to look like his old self like 6 months later at least.
