LAG Vs Colorado US Open Lineup With a league match to follow in about 10 days against the same club, how would you play this one? Strategic (look at the new kids) or tactical (win). My bet is Rudd would like to go strategic because of the league match. In which case I would look for Gavin, Valentin and Jordan see a lot of time now if they are back from France. Jordan and Gavin had their moments in the matches I watched, Valentin was part of a back line that made the Maginot line look awesome. Reading the LAG press release, it might be possible that they might not be back in time, which means tactical because of lack of depth. I imagine that the match will not be well attended. What do you think the walk up price will be for a ticket?
Re: US Open Cup: LAG/Col. I have 4 tickets plus (I think I can e-mail) a parking pass for FREE to this game. We are not able to attend nor our usual friends can not go. I will give these tickets to a Galaxy Big Soccer fan who has been registered on big soccer for at least a year!! The seats are in section 114 row S seats 11-14. I will give them to the first PM I get that follows this criteria. Again, a Big soccer member for at least a year!! Please include your e-mail address so I can forward the tickets. Have fun!
Re: LAG Vs Colorado US Open Lineup Is this a one and done tournament? I don't really understand the rules. Are we in a group stage, or is it like the FA cup- just a bunch of single elimination rounds?
Re: US Open Cup: LAG/Col. -----------Wicks Roberts--X--Franklin--Randolph ------Pires----Franch Klein------------------Allen -------Buddle--Gordon Subs: in 2nd half - Gavin for Allen (moving Randolph to left-mid), Valentin for X (fresh legs), Ruiz for Buddle (gives Buddle rest and gets Ruiz 45 minutes of play leading up to next weekend's league match) and either Vanney or McDonald at games end if needed. That way, we only have 3 players (Klein, Franklin and Pires) who play the whole 90 in this game and this past weekend's game.
Re: LAG Vs Colorado US Open Lineup just one and done heres the bracket from last year http://usopencup.com/2005bracket/index_E.html
Re: US Open Cup: LAG/Col. Klein should definitely look to take a Beckham-esque role in this match against Colorado. He is by far the second best ball-crosser on this team. I like TrickHog's line-up but I have a question. Are Gavin, Valentin, and Jordan still away at the U-21 Toulon Tourny or have the USA been eliminated? Would we want these guys to fly back and forth?
Re: LAG Vs Colorado US Open Lineup I think they'll strategically use the game to get some minutes for some guys who haven't gotten many (Wicks, Tudela, Allen, Ruiz). But they have to play for the win. The team is starting to find it's way, it's important to continue to play in all competitions to keep the progress moving forward.
Re: LAG Vs Colorado US Open Lineup If anyone wants to go, I have an extra ticket in the Riot Squad (138) that I will sell for just $10. Face is $50, season ticket price is $25. PM me.
Are there any promotions planned for tomorrow's game? The Galaxy promotions section doesn't even list this game.
Re: US Open Cup: LAG/Col. The US U-23 Team was eliminated after two losses to Turkey and Ivory Coast. We lost our third game to Italy last Saturday as well. Our "three young G's" (as someone calls them) will not have to fly back and forth.
Right, landed and sitting having a beer in Doubletree, Orange. Just looked at the posts and see the weird USOC rules. So, Galaxy have to qualify as one of the premier clubs in the country and I read on other sites , Hollywood United are already qualified who comprise ex pats and actors. Shouldn't you get automatically through to the first round at the very least? Regardless, think I will attend tomorrow for a laugh. I'm used to small crowds, 3-4k, but thats in a small ground. If the $10 ticket is still available I'll have it.
Ante Jazic available for OC game - he'll fly out to join the rest of the Canadians following the game. Source: http://la.galaxy.mlsnet.com/news/te...t_id=161009&vkey=news_lag&fext=.jsp&team=t106 Due to the absence of Landon and David, I see Ruud sending out a more traditional 4-4-2 formation over what the team has been fielding the past few games: -------------Cronin-------------- ????-----Franklin---Xavier---Jazic Klein----McDonald--Franchino--Randolph ---------Gordon---Buddle-------- Perhaps Ruiz can come on as a sub? I don't want to throw him into the fire just yet due to the injury he has just recovered from.
This qualifying crap was added because many teams complained of fixture congestion toward the middle of the season. Since the league grew recently, some MLS teams would have had to enter prior to the third round, and thus would have to play an extra game in the already busy mid-season. The players union (or maybe even the Galaxy team) complained, and MLS decided to still enter in the third round, but to add a qualifying round to fix the mid-season congestion.
I'll be there. I just hope that some of our young players can get in the game and give a sense of what's on the horizon. Galaxy doesn't have cap-room to sign big-time Free Agents , we're going to have to build the future from what's already within the organization.
Ruud said,he's taking tonight game seriously http://web.mlsnet.com/news/team_new...t_id=160940&vkey=news_lag&fext=.jsp&team=t106 I agreed with him.....
The most significant thing I saw in this article is that the HDC will host the Open Cup final. If that's the case we now know what another bonus game should be. Has anyone heard about other possible bonus games? First round playoffs? That would be nice. We already have the MLS Cup on the list.
Re: US Open Cup: LAG/Col. does anyone know if there is an online stream for 1220am? because it is going to be on it.....
