I saw every second of the game ... in the first Liga was owning! In the second half I have to admit SL got together and played a smart and very defensive game... My hats off to all the Liga players especially Manso and Bolaños and Guerron... The PK's were gut wrenching ... but my man Cevallos did it again !!!! He did it with Barcelona a few years back and I hope he makes it all the way with LDU !! Pa'rriba Ecuador !!! GREAT GAME !!

Great match. Liga deserved the win, but the Argentinos left major huevos on the field too, playing one man short. The post match celebration of Liga and agony of the SL players said it all -- both teams wanted this very badly.

I love that Liga never put their heads down after the SL goal and were very close multiple times to finishing this one off in teh 2nd half. I was worried about the penalties because anything can happen, but Cevallos came up huge and so did our 5 boys. Special props to Eder Vaca ... a last minute sub that Bauza knows has a great left foot and was put in for the single purpose of converting a big kick and his shot may just have been the classiest of them all.

    Vamos Liga, vamos Ecuador!

Wtf?!!!? Good Game?!?! You Guys Call That A Good Game?!!? If Anything That Was Embarrasing!! How Could Liga Not Take Advantage Of The Fact That They Had An Extra Man? Wow I Am Very Disappointed That Sl Even Scored!? It Shows How Weak Liga's Defense Is...what A Sad Performance...hopefully Liga Could Shape Up Before Facing America

whatever dawg, a win is a win...this wasn't even liga's best game and we still survived. I'm not making excuses for anybody, but rest assured that this next round we'll see a solid ass liga. Remember that Calle is only replacing Calderon until he gets back from injury, with him back, our defense gets solid again.

good win for Liga, we are now in the semis and have good chances to advance if we play with heart, smarts, and focus

This clown watched ONE Liga game in his life and is already talking huevas. If you would have watched all of Liga's game's in the Libertadores you would have known that this was Liga's worst performance and STILL got to the semis.

I get the impression that Liga performed poorly under the pressure of very high expectations. The press and fans were "triunfalistas" given the good result in Argentina. In this game Liga lacked the calmness and poise of other matches, it was clear from the beginning. Guerron at times (for good reason) looked like he was being watched closely by scouts and his price tag was being calculated.

The lesson here is that, much like the Ecuadorian national team, Liga has to play the underdog role to its maximum, be humble and always play like they have something to prove.

And he had a mediocre game. I think all the boca talk with Fox people got to him.

I have to agree it wasnt the best game for moments in the field, and we could not use the advantage of one more man which is ridiculous, but you come out way too strong. Is not like we where Atlas or Flamengo, who were not even able to use to local turf in advantage, we played through a tough game and even though we didnt shine like in other occations, we did manage to keep the game in our control.

Gotta agree in your perception of our performance, we have a better level of play that we have proved in other games. However, I think the fact Guerron was having all these talks about Boca, kind of affected his game. Now he gets the same from America from what I read in a post? Hopefully Bauza this time can get him to focus on the game and play for liga and not for his performance. The better he plays with the team, the better deals he will get, he needs to understand this first. Not saying he was a show off all the game, but you could tell he was trying too hard, I mean, he fumbled and lost the ball one and even fell on a overdone run IMO. at times and just by the end did he get the grip back.
