You must've not witnessed the 2006 World Cup. Boca cannot play LB at the International level! What do you want, for Wright-Phillips to tear us apart?

    U.S. ROSTER BY POSITION
GOALKEEPERS (3): Dominic Cervi (Out of Contract), Brad Guzan (Chivas USA), Tim Howard (Everton FC)

DEFENDERS (8): Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham FC), Dan Califf (FC Midtjylland), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Jay DeMerit (Watford FC), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege), Michael Orozco (San Luis), Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)

MIDFIELDERS (8): Freddy Adu (SL Benfica), DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers), Michael Bradley (SC Heerenveen), Ricardo Clark (Houston Dynamo), Benny Feilhaber (Derby County), Eddie Lewis (Derby County) Clint Dempsey (Fulham FC), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)

FORWARDS (3): Nate Jaqua (Out of Contract), Eddie Johnson (Fulham FC), Josh Wolff (Out of Contract)

Well I am not suprise really with the choices for the next this game. It might also be the same people called in for the Spain game also. I would hope Bob uses a 3-5-2 formation in this game, but I doubt that will happen. I do see that BB goes to the 4-4-2 Diamond or Bucket for this game. I would think that Jaqua would start we are going to need a tough striker who won't be scared to go for the ball in the air like Cooper lacks to do. Jaqua better play the greatest game of his life to get a call to a good team. I would like to see him being partnered by EJ with him playing reserve, and mainly training I would hope he made some sort of improvements. Also I would hope that he comes with more of an aggressive edge to him like the way he started last year season with KC Wizards. He is a good finisher he just needs to do it at the higher level. I think that Beasley may come of the bench like he did for Rangers and that I would rather be it like that. He just returned and is not yet in form to command a full 90 or 80 min game. Damn I am psyched for this game. I think we can win this game if we get down to business like we did against Poland. Or At least beat England on set pieces only.

    I thought Spector was injured.

DeMerit-Onyewu-Boca our three man backline that could work.

An awful lot of boarderline professionals, many that don't play, many that only ride the bench, some that play only in reserve team games, a few talents that were almost relegated/failed out of whatever league, and others whose teams saw them play/practice everyday and don't want them back for next season. That is 12 of all the USA players selected! ...Hopefully for substitutions?

Damn Coach Bradely you are playing England on their home soil right? It could be embarrassing for England if this motley crew beats them. But if England is stronger on the day this could be ugly for USA?

    Dominic Cervi (Out of Contract),
    Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham FC),
    Jay DeMerit (Watford FC),
    Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock),
    Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)
    Freddy Adu (SL Benfica),
DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers)missed much of season with injury.
    Benny Feilhaber (Derby County)
    Clint Dempsey (Fulham FC)
    Nate Jaqua (Out of Contract)
    Eddie Johnson (Fulham FC),
    Josh Wolff (Out of Contract)

Not bad, but obvious MLS got a pass. So not much finagle room, considering some the original "33" are suspect at best. Seems injuries, bench warming and out of contract situations are good things these days..

Kenny Coop instead of pitiful, pitiful, pitiful EJ. Sorry EJ, it has been 2.5 years and nothing but poo.

The rest are ok, but would have liked to see some of the up and coming MLS guys, ie, Coop, Rogers, Altidore etc.

This lineup writes itself without Jozy, Edu, and the MLS gang.

    ----------Johnson---Donovan-------
    Beasley---Clark---Bradley--Dempsey
    Pearce--Onyewu--Boca---Cherundolo
    --------------Howard-------------

I'd be shocked if it's anything different.

Yep, this is definitely the lineup. Only other possiblity is Lewis instead of Beasley if Bradley decides to give him some rest.

I agree that we'll probably see this, but Wolff has been starting in a right winger role at 1860, so we might see him there and Dempsey up top with Donovan. Lewis will probably start over Beasley.

Clint's lineup is spot on, with the exception that I think Beasley will come off the bench.

I would have loved to see Jozy play but I guess he'll get his chances later. Man thinking about it, it would have As for EJ, i'm tired of watching this guy play lazy and as if he's scared to touch the ball. It's time for this guy to step up and play like has a pair. Man it's fustrating to see. Anyhow as for the defenders I would really like to see Dolo, Onyewu, Orosco, Pearce. We got 2 nice vets and 2 youngsters i think it would work. Plus I at times have watched Mexican Football and Orosco plays well with San Luis, he's poised and very skillful. Aslo is a tough guy. In the Midfield I'd rather see Bradley, Feilhaber duo than Clark. But i know Benny hasn't been playing so I don't think that will happen. I would also like to see Dempsey in his OG Midfield Position and Adu as well and up top LD and Jaqua. But we'll see what happens.

I have the same lineup as Clint, but he gets all the credit because he made the nice little formation setup. :p

I don't see Beasley starting, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Donovan took the same spot he did against Poland - as the attacking left mid.

Not saying I like that, but I could see it happen.

Seeing Josh Wolff on our roster makes me sick. I guess having played for Bradley for a few years trumps sucking in front of the goal.

I dunno, he started in the Gold Cup final which actually mattered. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

EJ????? Dear GOD, please allow me to grieve in PEACE. I can handle the fact that we'll loose all three, or even get blown out, but what I CAN NOT comprehend is the EMBARASSMENT that EJ brings to our nat team. Please give me coach that will RETIRE EJ.

He started because Hejduk had accumulated too many yellow cards.

    My lineup:

    ----------Dempsey---Donovan---------

    ---Beasley-----------------------Adu---

    -----------------Bradley-----------------

    ------------------Clark-------------------

    Pearce-----Boca----Onyewu-----Dolo

    -----------------Howard-----------------

Similar Y or Box (Bradley and Clark side by side) midfield to the one playing against Poland. Adu playing as AM, serving through balls to Dempsey and Donovan, similar to what Beckham and Donovan does in LA. Adu will also take all the set peices and corner kicks. On the right, he can use his left foot to shoot on goal. Without Adu, Donovan and Dempsey will be stranded up there by themselves without any services.

Absolutely no EJ in the starting lineup. Right now, I will take Adu over EJ, Wolff, Lewis any day. I hope Bradley will bring out the same starting lineup.

You ought to flip Gooch and Boca.

As to Wolff vs. Johnson - I say Bob wants Wolff's smarts to open the match.

BTW, the 1860 fans weren't as down on him. He played right wing pretty well for the team in 4-2-3-1.

That could mean him on the right with Dempsey on top and Donovan on the left.

    Or ...

Switch the sides for Onyewu and Boca, and unfortunatly switch Dempsey and Donovan I bet and you have it.

If I was the coach, this is my 11. But then again, it's probably why I am sitting at home posting on BS.

    GK
    X-X-X-X
    CD-MB-RC-LD
    ----Adu----
    -----NJ-----

1 - We all know who the keeper is
2 - Don't really care about the back four
3 - LD did well against the Poles in LM
4 - Adu had proved on multiple levels that he can create chances as well as finished them
5 - NJ, at least he won't pass the ball back to MF 90% of the time and take some shots at goal.
6 - Keep EJ on the bench so he can watch and learn.

I'm with you on that. I particularly can't understand the Clark thing, as Clark's team has a game in the midweek whereas Edu's doesn't. He could have brought Edu for this game, and then brought Clark for Spain and avoided any problems with either player missing a game to attend. Puzzling.

I'd rather see "he scored" on Josh's tombstone than "he made good runs off the ball". the guy is impotent/flaccid/limp in front of the goal.
