Our new coach doesn't tolerate FOOL TROLL YOU BASTARD!!!111oneoneone <ahem> Someone who actually has a clue can tell you about Feruzzi. I just wanted to call you a fool troll.
With the a big bulk of the team being hispanic, I think the time is nigh that FCD look for a hispanic coach, if they don't - the new coach had better understand how Central and South American players tick. In that regard, I don't know if Spencer will fit with this team. Pareja would be a better fit IMO.
Hey, I just wanna point one thing out real quick... Steve Morrow's failure was ultimately not his own fault... Steve Morrow should have never been hired in the first place!
couple names come to mind in and around MLS Harkes - former Nats player, played in England and MLS, assisted Areana at redcow mike sorber - Former Nats player, played in MLS and Mexico, former college coach and now Nats Assitant Brian Maisonneuve - former nats player, MLS player now Youth nats coach John Spencer - former scot nat, played in England,Scotland and MLS, assitant coach in Houston Paul Mariner - former enland nat, played in England, assistant coach with New England John Murphy - assistant coach with colorado and new england, great judge of youth talent Gary Smith - former pro in england, assisted at wycombe, Watford reserve coach, scout for arsenal and now assistant at colorado
A part of me would love to see Pareja as head coach, but the other part of me doesn't want that to happen until Hitch is gone too.
Oh my FUKCIN GAWD! I just NOW noticed you were using a quote of mine!! ....sorry....can't type....laughing tooooo hard........ oh gawd....... <expires>
On a side note--doesn't this mean that the guy at the Al Dia blog was RIGHT? After all, one loss does not a firing make.
Freaking old people need to remember to put their glasses on Back on topic....I'd rather see Pareja stay right where he is for no other reason than purely selfish NT reasons.
Wow, would have thought they'd at least given him one more game before firing him. Hopefully this will pull the team out of whatever funk they are in.
I can't help but think of some thoughts Buzz had back in the old "Clarke must go" thread. Bad franchises change coaches on a regular basis. Good franchises set up a system and stick with it. Paraphrasing of course. But here we are on the coaching carousel. I can only hope that since this was done so early in the season that this means they will take their time and conduct a detailed search for front office soccer guys and a coach that shares the same views on how the game is played and won. Even if they come here and win every American trophy imaginable, move on and take over the reigns at Manchester United in a few years.......the style of play and the identity of this franchise remains the same. They can start by getting the midfield to string more than two passes together. I don't think the loyal fan base expected a whole hell of alot this season anyway. So they have all season to get this right. Please no excuses.
No doubt.....and believe me, if I thought any of the stiffs we've had along the way were worth keeping around I would agree. I'm not a big fan of change for change's sake.....but I'm also not a big fan of keeping the status quo so as not to rock the boat. Honestly, if you think about it, we've kept the coaching job in the same "stable" for the last 7 seasons. Jefferies to Clarke to Morrow. And while we've changed names, we haven't really changed directions. It's time to finally change the direction and, hopefully, create some of that stability that is so important to a winning franchise.
Holy crap. That's all I have to say about this development. There must've been something going on beyond Sunday's loss. As bad as it was, all I considered it to be was the first nail in the coffin of Morrow's FCD coaching career, not the final one. Hell, it took HSG until August of the 2003 season to can Mike Jeffries and things appeared to be 10 times as bad on the field that season.
Glasses really don't matter when you have your head as far up your ass as I do. Apparently. And, for the fact the "The Orange" fear FC Dallas getting someone who has a clue and coming down there to Robertson and ripping your suddenly average ass-clowns a new rectum? Meh. Don't worry. We'll always have HSG (and probably Hitch) to throw a monkey-wrench into our tuna-fish salad. FC Mediocrity!!
Feel bad for SM. Probably agree that based on history, there was probably something other than the win/loss record that pushed them into action.
I'd like to see a guy like Ricardo Lavolpe come in and coach Dallas. I think a South American coach like him would be an interesting experiment instead of going for an MLS guy. Has its pluses and minuses.
