Another thing about mourinho that will pssibly deter us is that he seems the journeman kind of manager and i think we should go for a manager who is committed to us for a long time rather than having to deal with rumours of him leaving and causing uncertainty.

A journeyman is someone who has learned a trade and is experienced. It's typically used in sports to describe someone who is competent but not outstanding. Mourinho would not correctly be described as a journeyman.

Journeyman is someone who does not stay at one place for too long in footballing sense. For eg nicolas anelka ,juan veron.
If you want to take literal meaning then let's call him a nomad.Fine?

A journeyman (in sports) is someone who hasn't been able to latch on to a specific club because he is simply ordinary, or at the very least, not brilliant enough to achieve tenure. Mourinho left Porto to achieve bigger things with Chelsea and left Chelsea due to management issues. He is NOT a journeyman by any means of the definition.

I'd say the proper term for Jose is "mercenary". But that's just me.

I think the days of managers staying around for the length of time SAF and even Wenger are in the past. This length of time is one of the reasons we can play attacking and aesthetic ball. (Carte balnche from the owners is the other)

And the way the game is being played is more and more changing and there is more of a scientific appraoch methoidcal appraoch to the game. More and more coaches are going to be that way I fear. Look at how we got by Barca. It was Mourinho-esque or even benitez-esque. SAF realized the need to change the approach to this game and adapted. And it worked.

Now when he leaves, the new manager whoever it will be will want to play attacking due to the club history. But he must secure his job first so he can have the opportunity to do so. I think that manager must then take an approach that would make him not lose games, Meaning limiting the goals conceded. So some measure of less than free flowing ball will be necessary.

Mourinho would not be a bad fit. He will just have a different platform to build from. Once that is set the attacking part will come into play.............
