    GOOOOOOOOL!

Adderly pots one early. LA backline playing like 5th graders, and GK Wicks looking like he's never played keeper before.

Whitecaps not playing well, but well enough so far.

Looks like they held a tractor pull on the field before the game.

In case we wanted a reminder, Xavier gets beat by Addlery on speed. Luckily he hits the post and the game remains 1-0. A couple shots from outside the box by our boys so at least we're seeing some offense.

LAG has woken up and looks a little peeved that they are being shown up by a USL-1 club and are looking much more dangerous coming forward. LAG is just blasting slots.

Vancouver is now being outplayed a little, but their midfield play is good, and their counterattack very dangerous. 3 opps in the last 5 minutes.

LA playing slightly better than Vancouver at this point.

Agree with previous poster: turf is utter shite. On behalf of Canadians everywhere, I apologize. =)

Which is worse, the Pitch or the Galaxy's back line?

    It looks cold there.

I want to stick a fork in vanney's eye! Just an urge I have! X has really gone down hill. A passback to the goalie while being 5 feet away with the striker on his back...WTF!

GOAL GORDO!!!! 43rd Minute! 50/50 with goalie...header right out of goalie's hands!

1-1, sounds like Serge was a bit indecisive and Gordon made him pay.

    dull

    are you kidding me?

if the Caps keeper didnt come out he could have caught that weak SS header while holding a hotdog and a beer.

Alan Gordon again scores a weak goal, from keeper error.

    Re: dull

Keep in mind, Serge was behind Josh Wicks on the depth chart the entire time they were both here. And usually that was as No.3.

He hasn't made any mistakes in the first three games, but he's really had very little to do save for pick a penalty out of the net.

I think that field is suppose to be like those color blind charts. What image do you see in the contrast between grass and dirt mounds! Lovely!

    So far:

Tudela's looked shaky with some bad giveaways. He gets at least half of the blame on the goal as he kicked it back at his own goal.

Vanney looks terrible; again, a lot of bad passes.

Jazic looks OK, although not really tested.

Roberts is getting caught out of position too much.

    Gordon does what he does.

The one thing I can say for certain is having
X, Vanne, and Roberts at once on the field makes our defense look like the keystone cops. The team can't make a good pass to save their lives, it really does look like Beckham plus 10 amateurs out there.

GOOOOOAAALLLLL vancouver after 3 minutes and change! Xavier gets burned. In first 45 minutes, X got beat 3 times, Roberts 3 times and Vanney played the ball to a Whitecap 4 times in the LAG side of the field. Way to go!

Second half about to begin - lets hope Ruud is making some changes.

So far, offensively speaking, we're doing pretty well - good attempts at goal by Beckham, Randolph and Franchino; Gordon made good and scored.

I'm glad to see Jordan getting the start to get some real game practice, but seriously - where's the other young guys, Gavin and Valentin? What would the point have been of coming to Canada if they don't get some practice in and we just stick to the tried-and-failed combo of X and Vanney? They are headed to France after this game for nat. duty.

Defensively though, its the same old story - we're shaky on the backline, especially due to the old legs in the middle, and considering this is Wick's first start for the first team, for all the platitudes that have been placed on him, some mistakes are to be expected - he and the rest of the team got extremely lucky that one shot bounced off the pipes, or else this would be a 2-1 game.

    EDIT: Valentin in for Vanney.

Ah damn that was a perfect scoring opportunity - Tudela should've passed the ball to Jordan .

Addlerly off for Vancouver. Nick Webb on. First saw him play when he was about 15.

Sounds like LA having the better of the second half.

    EDIT: Gavin on for Jazic.
