Hey Victory, Just a heads up, we are six for sure right now and I've got still about another 10 maybes. I'll be giving you definite numbers on the 25th. We'll all be staying at the Best Western too, so hopefully they're ready for us! Scott!!!
Sounds good. Don't forgot to start collecting the money on your end. Without double checking the spreadsheet I believe we are around 15 people from DC. Several people have ordered from the west coast. A whole slew of people have contacted me but not purchased tickets yet. Should be a good sized group.
Anybody going to the game from the IE? If I'm able to get a ticket I'll probably need to carpool with someone... And Knave is a real person, at least if he's not, he's a really well made robot.
Hey Victory, I just sent an e-mail to the e-mail address listed on the first post. We are six definites and need to pay for our tickets. We're also booking our rooms today. Looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone coming out for the game! Scott M.
Due to circumstances out of my control (namely season ticket sales) the Chivas FO has at the last minute switched our section from midfield to the corner. We are now in Section 138. This is actually the Section we originally wanted. The ticket price has gone down to $15.00 a ticket. If you paid cash for a ticket I will give you cash at the tailgate tomorrow. If you paid via paypal I have already sent you the difference betweem the original ticket price and the new ticket price. If for some strange reason you no longer want the ticket because of the new section pm me. For those of you who have not ordered yet please send me the ticket money. $15.50 (.50 is for pay pal fees) to jigiel @ nealon.com (remove the spaced)
Alright, we are now seven confirmed and paid for and we booked our hotel yesterday. We'll be checking into the hotel some time around lunchtime after driving up from San Diego. We'll probably hit the beach and/or hotel pool before any bar meet-up or tailgate. Speaking of which, are we meeting up at the bar before the tailgate/game or are we going there after the game? Also, with a 7:30 kick-off, what time should we start showing up for the tailgate? 5:30? Thanks again to everyone setting this up. See you all on the 17th. Scott M.
I am unoffically calling May 12 5:00 p.m. est the last call for ticket orders. I think I can work ticket orders in after that but I would rather not. If you can not pay by the 12th or can not have a firm answer until later pm me. The Chivas FO has offered to sell us some parking passes to the lot closest to our seats. Most of you know that officially there is no tailgating at the HDC. However, if you use a red cup and keep things on the down low in my experiance you are OK. Do people want to get the parking passes or meet up in another lot 4A. People with more knowledge please chime in on the best place to tailgate.
Lot 4A is a safer bet for tailgating...get to close to the Stadium and more security is around...plus more vocal Chivas vans will park closer to the stadium. A few times we've even passed the team bus walking into the Stadium from 4A...I like marching as a group to the stadium, but if you have a problem with a little bit of a hike, go with closer to the stadium.
It really depends on how much they will sell you the passes for. The lots in 4a and 4b are usually $10 and easy to get into/out of. They are also okay for tailgating (no grilling). No if they offer $5 parking that's a different story all together. James
I think it's best to stay in 4a/b. We've done the red cup thing many times and have never had any problems. Plus, the distance from the stadium is a benefit as rarely are there any large non-DC crowds out there, and as someone else said, there is next to no security. Just the occassional drive-by. (It's LA, what do you expect.) My crew and I are down with 4a/b. Can they give us a discount out there? Thanks for continuing the great job of organizing! Scott M.
Map for reference....I assume they are offering Passes for Lot 6/7.... http://www.mlsnet.com/t106/pdf/stadium_parkingrates.pdf
I just bought my home VW Jersey for this match. Anyone else going to be sporting the new jersey for the Chivas match? This jersey is schweet!!! Scott M.
Ordered my Black Long-Sleeve Authentic today (all the short sleeves were sold out). Got it Quaranta-ed. We should do the black out. Cheers, james
I will post a list of ticket left at will call in a day or so. Unless requested otherwise the West Coast peoples tickets will be at will call and the east coast people will get their tickets at the tailgate.
PRELIMINARY TICKET LIST: We are 36 strong at the moment. Still have some people on the fence and hopefully we add to that number. On Wed I plan on sending the will call list to the Front Office so if you want to move from one list to the other or change the name of the person who will actually pick up the tickets let me know: Will pick up tickets at tailgate: Captain StagsUnited72 Srdan (3) Kerry Joe Soccer Fan (2) Dirty (2) GuTuna DCUTool (2) Victory Picking up tickets from will call. They will be listed under the following names: James Bilgihan (2) Elizabeth Casales (6) Adrian Andrade (3) Scott Madison (7) Roni Laxa (2) Robert Tidwell (2) IF YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THIS LIST OR IF THE NUMBER OF TICKETS NEXT TO YOUR NAME IS INCORRECT PM OR EMAIL ME ASAP. IF YOU ARE NOT ON THIS LIST YOU DO NOT HAVE A TICKET. IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A TICKET AND HAVE NOT DONE SO YET DO SO. FRIDAY NIGHT: If you are coming in Friday please join us at http://www.najasplace.com/. This is a fantastic bar with a great beer selection. I imagine we will be at najas by 8. We are also likely to be there earlier in the day. Najas is on the boardwalk and there are some really great places for lunch and dinner right there. TAILAGTE LOCATION Lot 4A. Several reasons for this lot. First, the local crowd recommended it and second the Chivas front office never got back to me with parking pass information. Tailagte starts around 5:00. ADDITIONAL POINTS: 1) The HDC parking lot is technically a no tailgating zone. However, if you stick to the red cup and keep things low key you should be fine. Be smart. 2) The Chivas fans are notorious for attempting to steal from other fans. Keep a close eye on banners and flags. Do not leave them unattended. 3) Away sections are traditionally General Admission. 4) Per standard road trip procedure if anyone has any issued with security or other fans please find myself or Srdan immediately and let us handle the situation. 5) Most of the DC people have my cell number, I will try to email it everyone else. Feel free to call if there is a problem or you are wondering where we are drinking at a particular moment. Any questions, pm me. Vamos United. Look foward to seeing everyone in Lala land.
Hey Victory, If at all possible, I'd like to switch the tickets for my crew from Will Call to tailgate pick-up. Due to where our tailgate is, where will call is, and where our seats are, we'll need to leave 45 minutes before game time to get the tickets and meet up in time for opening kick. That's some valuable time at the tailgate I'd rather spend with you fine people. My crew and I will be at the hotel around 2pm on Saturday afternoon where we'll spend some quality time at the pool until it's time to go to the game. Also, is anyone going to Naja's Place on Saturday after the game? See you all on Saturday! Scott M.
