Uh, no. Stadium food is the antithesis of everything In-n-Out stands for. Stadium food is pre-packaged, mass produced, and lowest common denominator. In-n-Out doesn't need to advertise and they don't need to lower their standards to fit in to a stadium's unique demands.

This of Carl's Jr. vs. In-n-Out. Then, think of Carl's Jr. at Dodger Stadium vs. Carl's Jr. Does In-n-Out need to erode their brand in that way?

Sorry, that turned into a rant. I suppose that when it comes to In-n-Out some of us have easily offended sensibilities.

    Speaking of burgers...

Anyone from the Valley try The Habit (http://www.habitburger.com/) yet? I know this is sacrilege, but I think it might just be a better burger then In n Out. (It's hard to type that being a SoCal native)

This chain is moving down the coast from Santa Barbara where the original is (and was a popular spot when I went to UCSB)

Give it a try if you get a chance it's really good.

Hmmmmm, veddy veddy intawesting! The closest one to me would be Glendale. I might just have to check it out! I jsut dont know how you can beat In-N-Out though.

I saw Iron Man last night and in one scene after 3 months of captivity the guy wanted an american burger... they showed him eating a Burger King. Sorry, but if I was in captivity for 3 months Id be ordering an In-N-Out, not a BK. Im sure anyone in California was probably thinking the same.

Actually that has to do with how Rober Downing Jr. turned his life around. My co-worker told me that in 2003 after being in jail and getting into all types of trouble due to drugs, one day Robert Downing Jr. decided to eat Burger King while cruising PCH, got his burger and parked in front of the beach. While eating his burger, he decided he had enough of drugs and stepped out of his car and dumped all this drugs into the ocean (nice going, now the fist are druggies, lol). He got clean after having Burger King.

Oh, and In N Out is not as good at Tommy's. Get a shack in the HDC, pronto!

In-N-Out is good, Tommy's is good if you like chili cheeseburgers, and if you really love burgers like I do, I recommend Apple Pan's Hickory Burger, with a coke and fries, after that, a slice of any of their pies, a bit pricey but worth every BITE. It's out in the Westside by the Westside pavilion mall. If you don't want pies, drive two minutes north for some Diddy Riese Cookies ice cream sand wiches. Guarantee you'd love IT if you're not a health nut!!!:D

I have not heard of an ordeniance that prohibits serving food right off a grill, I am sure thousands of restruants in the County would be suprised to hear that.

If #1 is in fact true that is even worse now for the consessions, why not cook good food in the kitchen (same as the Stadium Club) and sell it at the stands? I am sure the people in the Stadium Club do not have to eat the garbage they serve at the stands.

To actually have a grill, an establishment also have to have greasetraps, overhead ventilation, and few other hundred ordinated items to meet code. The concession stands weren't built for that.

Can a few be retrofitted for specialty service? Hopefully... and that is what this thread is about.

Good question. I will bring it up to them. They did mention that they are going to try to add a couple of beer only stands to help move the halftime crowd through the lines quicker.

I noticed the new "beer garden" that replaced the sausage grill. Is that working out for them?

Here's a suggestion... When I arrive 2 hours early don't make me park two miles away in Lot 7 until the rest of the parking is full. Since I saw the sign on Avalon that said $30 preferred parking go straight - $15 parking turn left on Victoria, I of course turned left. Who in their right mind would pay $30 unless it was valet? Later I found out they only charge $15 at the main entrance as well so the sign was totally misleading. Parking is so confusing and changes every week. Turning left on Victoria was a big mistake because they routed me all the way to the back of the campus to Lot 7. I had a big ass ice chest because I like to tailgate with my friends in lot 13 and had to drag it FAR. I mean I could hardly see the stadium from Lot 7. When I started walking by empty parking lots my blood started to boil. Lot 6, completely empty. Lot 12, not even half full. Lot 13, where I wanted to park, half full.

This is either a direct insult to fans or a scam to squeeze another $15 out us. It proves AEG doesn't care about the fans - making senior citizens and families with kids park way out in the boonies like that. Last season I parked where ever I pleased for $15 (and I still thought that was an outrageous price). Last night I spent $30 round trip for gas, $25 for my ticket, $15 for parking, $18 on beer. That is almost $90 for one person to go to a game in the cheap seats. In case AEG hasn't heard, we are in a recession. People are going to start cutting spending on entertainment. When AEG gouges us like this, guess what will be first to go? I can't believe they still charge $15 to park that far away. I'd say $5 to park that far away at most. By the time I got to where I was going I was in a foul mood and contemplated not going to any more games and instead watching them on tv. I've been to every home game so far this season and was thinking about getting season seats but definitely not now.

I remember this happening one or two times last season. I have been away, and haven't been able to go to a game yet this year, but if I remember correctly, it doesn't happen every time. Maybe on big games that they anticipate sellouts they do this? I'm not sure. I talked to my Dad and Brother who went to the game last night, and they concurred with Brixton that they had to park miles away even though they got there an hour early. I remember being really upset when that happened last year.

How about rewarding the fans who get there early by allowing them to park the closest and then filling out from there, so the later you arrive the further away you park? This will encourage people to get to the games early and cut down on last minute traffic jams.

Yesterday was a special event so the gates opened at 4pm...thus early was 3:300pm.

Also, I got a shirt this time. Brit Week was frankly kind of lame but the event sure had a ton of atypical attendees in the house, so I anticipate more of it in the future. It was ethnic pandering at it's finest though somehow it didn't seem like it.

I wonder what's next? Any bets on Persia-fest?

I was in the Team LA store last night about an hour before game time. There was one cash register open, and a huge line around the store. The cashier was competent & nice, thank God, or it could have been a nightmare. My suggestion is obvious - open more registers! Why would there be only one open on a sellout night?

STH discounts don't apply to printing names on the backs of jerseys. That's lame, IMO - especially when so many players names (not named Beckham) aren't available off the shelf.

I went to the large merchandise area near the northeast gate at halftime. The guy in front of me wanted a particular jersey in large - they were out. I asked about the women's tank tops - they were out of all sizes. I watched & saw 3 more people ask for merchandise they didn't have. It just seems so rinky-dink. Maybe better signage to show what sizes they have & take down the items that are all out would help if they can't seem to get fully stocked.

On the plus side, I saw Donovan and Randolph pre-printed jerseys for sale last night. That's a first for me! One year after the new jerseys are introduced. Improvement comes very slowly.

I noticed employees with clipboards last night roving the food lines, taking notes, and occassionally moving people to shorter lines. And maybe it was just luck but the two times I interacted with the guys behind the counter they were alert and attentive and actually seemed to care. I'm NOT saying that everything is OK, but it does appear that someone is trying to make a difference.

likewise, my only interaction with a cashier last night at the concessions stand was very pleasant. The employee was able to pour four beers, use the cash register and process a credit card in under 3 minutes. Way way way better then normal.

What justification is there for that?

Well, it does say merchandise purchases on the card. I suppose the justification is that the lettering is a service. The last thing I wanted to do was give the nice cashier a grilling with 15 more people in line behind me. :)

Be assertive, gents. I always park in Lot 13, despite what the attendants want me to do. I keep shaking my head, pointing and saying "No, Lot 13" until they give in and let me park there.

If they wave you to the right at the main gate, just turn left anyway. It's really not rocket science.

I wish I had the foresight to have done that last night. It took an hour to get out of a lot behind the southeast entrance. I even got in the left lane at the entrance to the parking in the hopes they would wave me left. When they didn't, I went to the right like a sheep.

    I won't do that again.
