Another one that I like is that coming into the games today the 4th place team had a one goal better goal differential than the 21st place team (who ended up relegated). Or that the 2nd best defense in the league got relegated. There's a million more - just plenty of parity. It is like the MLS (or any other non-baseball US sport.)
There's was also a story (in the Times, maybe? The Independent? Can't remember, but there's a link to it in today's Arseblog) about a woman in their front office, supposedly a lifelong Gooner, who's among the candidates to take Edelman's position. That could have been part of it as well, I suppose. I don't think anyone thought of a poor relationship between the two clubs until Eduardo's injury and its aftermath. Edit: To call it a story about her would be overstating it, I guess -- she was mentioned among other supposed candidates. Edit again: Here it is, Gooner4Eva links it in the Edelman thread. It refers to her as having a good relationship with the club. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/arsenal/article3867903.ece
Osasuna 1 - 2 Real Madrid Osasuna scored from the spot in the 83' but Real came back and scored two late goals.
they had Cannavaro sent off Heinze had to leave the pitch due to his bleeding finger right before the set piece
I've been hearing all week that if Madrid won this weekend, then Barca would have to clap Real Madrid onto the pitch at the Bernabeu next weekend. Is that true?
Haha yep, it is tradition to do this for the champions. I'm going to save this as my screensaver, and a still as my desktop. We've only won it 31 times ;D!
i think hed gone stale at the blues....he bought in some awful transfers wigan have a squad with much better ability trust me, if u watched blues under bruce u would see tactical naivety most games
ah the old karen brady shes a slut, i expect a few arsenal players to have run a train on her within her first year if she comes here
That's a pretty poor shortlist in terms of finding an Edelman replacement. I have one word for you: Jean-Michel Aulas First class douche, but damn good at what he does.
Now if only the government would help your poor little franchise so it could compete with the other clubs. Oh, wait...
That result made for a real downer for me, mixed with the Viola loss. I'm really hopeful Milan will still miss out on the CL. There's a club that could use a lesson (or forty) in humility.
