just wondering about this, because only time been to the stadium has been Brasil vs Mexico and it was a hell hole, took like 4 hrs to get to the game cause MA is retarded and decided to close 2 lanes of 93 when a sold out game at gillete stadium was taking place.....

any way think parking cost $25, is it always that expensive because I am going to go check out BU and want to catch a Rev game, and get tickets to the Brasil one too

also is getting to the stadium always that big of a nightmare?

Parking is typically free. Traffic depends on the day and time, because some degree of pileup in the area of 93/95/1 is normal. I've found that getting in and out of the stadium has not been at all a problem this year for stand alone games, but I arrive somewhat early.

The Brazil-Mexico match was a nightmare, sat in traffic for 4 hours and finally arrived at Gillette 80+ mins in to the match and was turned away as there was no parking left. Glad I spent $200 on tickets.

Parking is free for all stand alone Revs games. For doubleheaders, season ticket holders won't have to pay for parking. Everyone else will.

In regards to getting to and from the stadium ... for just a Revs game, it's not so bad (specifically on weekends). For this DH (or for Pats games) it's a much better idea to show up when they're opening up the lots.

For Revs games, it's generally really easy to drive in with minimal delays. But, when a crowd of 50K comes, particularly one that isn't very familiar with what it's like getting to the stadium, there are going to be problems.

The Patriots games bring in 68K people, and even with the horror stories about being stuck in the lots for hours after the game, if people didn't stagger their arrivals in order to tailgate, it would be even worse.

For the Brazil match, I think a LOT of people thought they could just drive in during the hour before the game and so there were a lot of cars on the roads all at the same time, trying to get through the tight funnel of rt. 1.

For full house games where you're gonna have to pay to park anyway like the Brazil game, it's best to park outside the Stadium. Get in early and park a mile or so up Rte 1 on the northbound side. You'll get home wayyy earlier than from the Gillette lots. If you're coming south on Rte 1, do a U-turn at the lights just north of the stadium and start looking for lots. Best I ever did was parking in the gas station right there at the stoplight a few years ago. Ten minute walk and good to go. Friends took hours to get out of the stdium lot.

Maybe at the Partriot Place shopping mall. You may want to try finding someone who will keep it in their car for you during the game.

Biking from Newton would be doable if there's a place to put the bike. 28 miles or so (about 90 minutes one way for me), or you could take the commuter rail to some closer spot (128, say) and cut it down a lot.

It's very doable from the Mansfield or Sharon stops.

I think that the Walpole or Norfolk stops on the Franklin line are actually closer to the stadium, so consider them as alternatives.
